WE GOT THE GRANT!!
NIUAS are ecstatic to have been awarded a grant to advance Officer Cadets in their flying training. This grant will be used to build a VR Flight Simulator and a mock pit that will aid students in their flight drills, circuits and emergencies. Flight simulators are constantly reinventing themselves and we hope to create and design an innovative and invaluable resource.

NIUAS students completing the 50-mile qualifier for the Nijmegen march, only lost a few men along the way but still managed to keep a 12 man-strong team. Currently enjoying some well-deserved beverages.
Last week 9 NIUAS Students attended the RAF Ski Champs in Saalbach Austria.
The group got the opportunity to compete in the champs and for some, learn how to ski⛷. Congratulations to one of our Officer Cadets who came 2nd in the Snowboarder improvers race... NIUAS first ever sporting achievement🥈🏂🥈 With harsh weather, skiing conditions were difficult which pushed the group outside their comfort zone but the week was thoroughly enjoyed by the group and valuable skills were learnt! Onwards and upwards for NIUAS🏆
Last week NIUAS conducted its first ski expedition to #tignes. Students gained a skiing qualification, fostered their leadership skills and challenged their abilities in what was a very successful week. One of the many Adventurous training opportunities available.

At NIUAS we are looking for people with high moral and physical courage who are reliable, responsible and confident. Those successful are presented with endless opportunities - not only do we offer military flying training, but members can take part in adventurous training and sports including rock climbing, football, sailing, rugby, mountaineering, hockey, mountain biking, ski touring, sky diving and much more.
If you like what you've read so far, and you have a keen interes...t in committing yourself to one of the best organisations available to full-time students, then make sure you come down to your Freshers’ Fair – or any that we are attending. You can spend some time talking to the current students and find out just what it is like juggling life on the Squadron with a full-time degree, or talk to our staff to find out what opportunities will lay in store if you are successful in gaining a place on the Squadron. You'll be just a step away from the most invigorating and wide ranging experiences open to an undergraduate.
Northern Ireland Universities’ Air Squadron will be represented at the following University Freshers’ Fairs in 2018:
Tuesday 25 September - University of Ulster Jordanstown Campus
Wednesday 26 September - Queens University Belfast
Wednesday 26 September - University of Ulster Coleraine Campus
All students wishing to join are encouraged to attend one of the fairs listed above. If you cannot attend your own university’s Freshers’ Fair feel free to come along to the Information presentation at the Queens University Belfast Peter Froggatt Centre from 1800-1900. All are welcome!
