Occupational Hygiene Services provide monitoring services that will assess risk to your employees from hazardous substances and environments.

Irwin has been working as an occupational hygienist for several years in blue chip companies. Prior to his role as an occupational hygienist he had extensive experience as a production manager in the food industry including bakery, poultry and red meat processing industries. Production management progressed in the rubber manufacturing industry where he realised that work environments were subjecting workers to exposures of hazardous substances and environments that would have a detrimental effect to their quality of life.
Irwin is a member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) and holds a BSc Honours degree in Food Science and Technology complemented by the CIEH Level 4 Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
Subsequently he has obtained the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and holds a number of BOHS International Certificates in occupational hygiene including:
- Measurement of Hazardous Substances (W501)
- Assessment and Control of the Thermal Environment (W502)
- Assessment and Control of Noise (W503)
- Asbestos and Other Fibres (W504)
- Control of Hazardous Substances (W505)
- Health Effect of Hazardous Substances (W507)
He is BOHS P601 Certificate of competence for the Thorough Examination and Testing of Local Exhaust Ventilations (LEV) Systems.
Irwin has a passion to ensure workers are protected to the highest degree from substances and environments that can and will cause harm if not controlled. Not only skilled in the assessment of hazardous substances and environments, he is passionate in assisting employers reducing the risks of exposure by providing detailed recommendations to eliminate, substitute or control risk and prevent exposure.
