We went to legoland yesterday and all had a great time (2 adults, 1 10yr old and 1 4yr old). Bags were searched on the way in but was very quick. We arrived just after 10am and there was no queue at the entrance. Queues for the main rides were between 20mins-50mins but I think that’s to be expected during the summer holidays. We still got on all the rides we wanted to go on. The pirate show was really good, both kids loved it. And they both enjoyed the water park area. Staff were great and helpful. Yes food & drink is pricey but again I think it’s to be expected at any theme park.

I wouldn’t usual write a review but after reading some of the negative ones I feel like they are quite unfair as it really doesn’t deserve 1 star!!!

User

Thought I would write a review as I almost nearly didn’t go to Legoland because of these reviews but got to say we had an amazing time! No problems at all! Place was clean and tidy plenty of drinks places open, only thing I would say is it’s expensive as expected so we took plenty of snacks and drinks but you can buy refillable drinks and slush too! Rides were great and no need for a q bot hardly queued at all! Went during week which I think probably more quiet than weekend! I would def use the app as you can see ride waiting times etc! Staff were all friendly, we stayed at Apollo hotel which was a car ride away but amazing hotel! It’s quite a walk around so I would suggest taking a buggy if you have small children but they do hire the buggies which looked great! def worth a visit!

User

My 7year old son loved it here, being a massive Lego fan it was the perfect birthday present for him. We visited over 2 days this week and arrived at the park mid morning both days although the car parks were pretty full so were pleasantly surprised to find no queues to get in and once inside wasn’t overcrowded. There were waiting times of around 30minutes for some rides but others we were able to jump straight on, this is just part and parcel of visiting a theme park our little boy never complained though as there were screens showing Lego programmes and Lego bricks to play with. There were plenty of food and drink kiosks around and picnic sites to enjoy your own packed lunches. The pop up beach went down well with our son which makes you realise something as simple as a sand pit is all they need to be entertained! The staff were pleasant and I would recommend a visit here to any Lego fan and don’t let any bad reviews put you off.

User

I honestly don't understand the dreadful reviews or what people actually expect from these places. Honestly.... the moans and whinging about prices. Having been to lots of places similar to this (Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Euro Disney) I expected high prices for food and drink, Car parking fees and for the safety of everyone - bag searches. Yes the food is expensive but it always is and yes the bag search happened but I was grateful for their security.

Here's what I thought:

The place was colourful and creative at every point you turned. Hidden gems of Lego structures throughout the day were spotted. The rides were great miniature versions of theme park classics and the kids really enjoyed them, each and every one. The staff were everywhere. We felt safe and if we needed someone, there were plenty available. The quality of the play areas and general maintenance of the place was good. Yes a few cobwebs here and there but it's an out door experience so you'd expect that. It's not a house you are visiting! We did two days and it really isn't enough time to complete the whole park. That said, it gives us a reason to go back. Yes you have to queue (although we didn't queue for very long and got there early to get in and get on) but you have to queue at any theme park so again it was discussed before we went and the boys "expected" it so there wasn't any moaning. Prepare your children for the theme park experience before you go and then they will enjoy it. We had an amazing two days at the park. The shows and entertainment were out of this world and all members of staff that we had contact with were chatty and friendly to us and the kids. It was scorchingly hot on Monday but that's not the park's fault. Will be going back for definite!!!!

Fantastic time at Legoland last weekend! Arrived at 9.15 Saturday morning, short stroll to the bag check area and then quickly went through to get our tickets checked and in we went! Pre ordered a q-bot (standard one day at £20 each) for everyone so collected that and headed straight to Ninjago which was our longest wait of the weekend, approx 45 mins. Spent the day utilising the q-bot and therefore doing all the rides with queues in one day, saving everything else (miniland, duplo village, splash safari, shows and a few other rides) until our 2nd day.

Great food in the pizza and pasta buffet, good value if you make sure you eat plenty! Drinks and ice cream included in price.

Yes it was busy but it was a weekend and the start of the school holidays so to be expected! Leaving the park both days wasn’t an issue, no major queues to get to the main road even though we left at closing time.

Yes food, drinks, gifts and photos are expensive but no more than other theme parks!

Park was clean and tidy, staff were friendly!

Would highly recommend a 2-day stay in a nearby hotel (we stopped at the Crowne Plaza Heathrow - 20 mins away) and look out for the kids go free and 2nd day free offers!

Thanks Legoland - 4 happy adults and 4 happy kids (6 years, 5 years and 2 x 3 years)

User

We had a really great time. We were lucky with queues and didn't have to wait too long for any of the rides we chose to go on, although we did decide not to go on the new Ninjago ride because of the 45 minute wait.

Drench Towers is amazing and is just perfect on a hot summer's day but there are not many shady spots to sit in, if you are just spectating.

The only irritation was that we could buy a slushy anywhere even though there were stalls all over the place. Either tills were broken, slush machines were not ready or the stalls had run out of cups. This was not good when the temperature was 32 degrees.

On the whole though, our trips was a really good one and we would come again.

I read a lot of reviews on TripAdvisor prior to visiting to gain tips as well as what to expect. I was extremely put off after reading them, however my daughter's main birthday present was to go here. I packed a picnic with plenty of water to avoid spending any more money. It is very expensive to get in and to have to pay for parking on top of that is wrong. I downloaded the app to get wait times and distance for the rides which helped a lot. Overall, we arrived 10.30 & left about 5.30. Went on about 9 rides, longest wait was 30 mins for the LDrivers. Wasn't able to see all of the park in one day with a 5 year old. I was happy we got to go on lots of rides but we were quite strategic in how we did things. Also found out the map isn't accurate so asking for directions from staff helped a lot. Also we found all of the staff to be polite despite lots of bad reviews about them. They seem to appreciate being thanked and having manners used with them, just like the rest of us. I do think the aim of the place is to get as much money out of people as possible but reading up beforehand saved us time and money. We used a voucher to get my daughter in when I paid £60 on the day and her dad paid in advance £47. £6 parking wasn't too far from entrance either but I think parking should be free after we pay so much to enter. Bags searched but also same staff gave us lots of advice and were pleasant. I doubt I would return simply based on prices and distance. But despite the exhaustion my daughter enjoyed her birthday.

Despite the rain we had a brilliant day today... haven’t been for about 18 years ( I think), but my 2 year old grandson loved it! Only 4 stars as I was completely underwhelmed with the cost of the doughnuts! Seriously how can you justify the cost of these little things? Yes it made more sense to buy 5 for £5.00 and even that was taking the mickey, but advertising 1 for £2.20!!!!! That is just out of order surely? You expect prices to be racked up as the customers are more or less held to ransom, and no, we didn’t have to buy any at the end of the day, but how on earth can you justify the cost? I really would like to know! It dIdnt spoil our enjoyment of the day as it has been a little tradition to buy them whenever we go to a theme park but honestly, we were gobsmacked

Well the resort was fine ie rides things to look at but then it got to the hotel for the amount of money we spent I was expecting a heck of alot more. checked in at 3pm Sunday went into the room looked nice but on closer inspection also after my 11 month old daughter put a clump of someone else's hair in her mouth we realised floor hadn't been hovered took 2 separate attempts to get it to an OK standard. Showers looked older than me (33) also looked like there was a year or more or grime on tiles it looked unclean. As for the beds I would of found the floor softer. Then after both children were Ill had a bad nights sleep we got kickwd out our room at 10am monday. Best of the hotel part was the older meet a greet fellas couldn't of helped more.

We attended Legoland Windsor on 26th July 2018. It was extremely busy and very hot. For this reason we only managed to sample three rides and then spent the rest of the time in the splash zone, which was welcomed on such a hot day. We were bag searched which is not a problem and wasn’t intrusive and I think is very necessary given the fact that Britain is on high alert for terrorist attacks. Anyone visiting Disney will know that this is a given. They are not about to take your lunch off you- just try and keep you safe! We did the journey on public transport from London (which was excellent). We are annual pass holders so cost wasn’t an issue for us. This was our second visit and the park did look tired in places. I wish Merlin entertainments would look at a booking system for rides so people can plan ahead and get on rides without queuing for hours on end, which would help during the busy and hot season and without having to fork out for fast passes. If Disney can do it then surely Merlin entertainments can follow suit. Our visit was enjoyable but could have been much better.

User

Took my 9 year old grandson yesterday, with hindsight shouldn’t have gone at the start of the school holidays as the place was packed. An average of 30 minute wait in blistering sun for pretty much all the rides. Unless of course you paid more money for Q bots, to jump queues! Loved the Lego especially miniland. My main complaint was that I paid in advance for inclusive meal and unlimited drinks, my grandson paid exactly the same as me but was only allowed a child’s meal. I complained at the time and was told that’s the rules. Secondly on a very hot day there were a number of drink refill places that were not open/out of order.

User

I go to legoland Windsor every year with my growing children and as a nanny before that. As everything it gets less value for money but it's such an exciting thing for the kids, we continue to endure an annual trip. We went on the first day of the holidays and particularly quiet. However the staff were being so layed back because it was quiet and the queue bot people were taking all the rides, the queues were still a long time, actually they seemed more like holding bays than queues as we didn't move for 20 minutes at the front while they sent round half empty rides with queue bot people in. If Tesco stop doing the deals with vouchers it will be our last trip, if I'd payed cash I would have felt very ripped off! But the kids don't see all the money side and just love it.

User

As usual, it’s a bit hit and miss, it’s a shame because Legoland has the potential to be excellent. All the ride supervisors are lovely and helpful. The concierge lost one of our bags, eventually returned by another hotel guest as the concierge couldn’t find it. The room was clean and comfortable. The shop and deliver service was late which delayed our dinner. Our first evening dinner in the tournament tavern was a pretty awful experience, the food was greast but only one cocktail available from the menu, no straws for children and no beer, all the taps were broken. The service from one particular waiter and his ‘friend’ was atrocious, our table was only cleared from let starters when our mains were ready, drinks took 30 minutes before they arrived (it was 30 degrees + I’m the evening) - cutlery wasn’t provided for our main course... following our main course, waiting staff walked around our table for half an hour, clearing other tables, setting them, all without checking if we wanted dessert or another drink. Awful. I have to reiterate that the food was fabulous though.

User

3 stars one for each for my grand children, who had a lovely time and one for the friendly staff. There is plenty of car parking but the spaces are a bit tight for modern cars. The car park isn’t too far from the entrance and we paid for our tickets, tad expensive but we did have vouchers for 2 free adults with 2 full paying children but the ticket price doesn’t include car parking that’s another 10% of the ticket price. We all then, children included, had our bags searched quickly with no queuing. That was probably the only time during the day we didn’t queue. It had just started to rain so after a quick loo stop we visited the shop to buy 4, bright yellow, ponchos advertising Legoland. It had stopped raining by the time we queued to pay the £18 for the ponchos tad, overpriced normally £1-£2 for these but hey ho we were in Legoland. Did use the ponchos to keep our bums dry on the first ride but my grand daughter wasn’t happy that hers ripped up the seam before we even got on the ride. I did use them again to cover the wet seat when we stopped for a coffee. We arrived at just after 10 and left at 18.00 and in that time we only managed 6 rides and a look around Miniland because of the queues. Is £10 for one ride lasting such a short time expensive? I think so, especially as one part of the park was closed, apart from the shop. It seemed everywhere you went there were add ons they were trying to sell you. The food was very expensive and whilst you expect to pay a premium at these places almost double the cost of a normal McDonalds is ridiculous. Overall Legoland was a bit tired and jaded and could do with some money spent on it sprucing the place up. Having said that the children had a great time but would I rush back I’m afraid the answer is “No”

User

My 5 year old granddaughter really enjoyed all the rides and attractions but I’m only rating it 2 star due to the very poor service by some of the staff and the quality of the food from the stalls and restaurants. There seem to be a lot of rides having technical issues so we were either turned away or told that it was closed after queuing for 40 minutes. It was lucky that we purchased a two day entry tickets then.

I was expecting to pay high prices for everything but wasn’t expecting such horrific food.

My best advice is to take your own food and to especially avoid the Knight’s Delight restaurant. We waited an hour for our food and they arrived sporadically so we didn’t even get to eat our meals together. Saw at least 6 other tables waiting the same amount of time and some longer. The food was also disgusting. The worst restaurant I’ve ever been to.

User

Based on the 5 1/2 hours I spent there with my six year old, and some friends, I'd say the kids really enjoyed themselves and there was a great deal more for them that we didn't get to.

But what I found not especially fair was that the accompanying adults are charged the same steep ticket prices as the kids are, when most of the rides and experiences are child-centred (which is fine), and adults are mostly accompanying their children and waiting around and holding bags. If this was a park (like for example, Luna Park in Sydney) where grown ups too can enjoy themselves on the vast majority of rides, I'd understand the equal ticket prices. But aside from admiring the genuinely marvellous creations of Miniland, most of the time we were just waiting around while our kids did stuff, we, the parents and guardians who bring the kids to the park in the first place, and we pay between 40 and 50 quid for that privilege.

So, my recommendation would be for the park to recognise that most of their offerings are for children, and they need parents and care-givers to bring children along, and to charge them a fairer price of entry. Thanks

User

As much as I love Lego being a grown man and my 2 year old starting to build with Duplo we will never return to Legoland Windsor. Went yesterday 29/07/18 paid £60 for 2 adults (child is free + had a voucher) which it wasn't that bad but if I had no voucher I would be fumming of the cost £60 each plus £60 for 3years and above. Due to the rain every one wanted ponchos (we had coats so didn't get ripped off) £4.50 for a poncho that is yellow with Legoland on the back. I bet when it's sunny they are only £2.

Went to a buffet pizza and pasta. £15 a head and please note it includes soft drinks. (When paying they don't inform you of this) But if you would like a hot drink it cost you extra. I find Legoland out of all the Merlin Parks a complete rip off. Especially for what is there. They know the kids will want or need things and make you pay through the roof for it. Even the Lego sets in the store you can get cheaper in of retail stores. It's such a shame but seriously a complete rip off.

User

Well this was a big disappointment. Before I start ranting about the negatives let me say the staff were excellent and very friendly. Now for the ranting. Firstly the access for disable people was terrible and to see young kids turned away from rides owing to access was really upsetting. My husband has a electric scooter and found it frustrating not to be able enjoy the rides with the grandchildren. The seating facilities for around the park is in adequate and not in the areas where you can watch the children. Eating facilities are not good at all not all of us want pic nic food especially if you’ve thought this would be a good park to visit on a two day pass. The models look like they need reburbishing, please if you want to create a Disney type park take a few tips from them. Finally the standard of cleaning is very poor. Needless to say I will not be recommending anyone to visit this park.

User

We visited Legoland yesterday having been sent away from Chessington due to a burst water pipe, it’s fair to say we won’t be returning what an awful day. Went through the bag search and showed our tickets went on the train and it broke down had to wait for maintenance and disembark half way down the tracks with 2 little ones. This wasn’t the only ride that broke down, hours of queuing to be told the ride had broken down once we got to the front. We wasn’t offered anything in regards to compensation for wasted time and hours. We must have gone on about 4 rides in total. At one point they had shut off all of the rides in the park, you pay £100 to get in and can’t go on any of the rides due to lack of maintenance! The prices you have to pay around the park are extortionate, never mind the £6 then to get back out of the car park. Fair to say our 4 hour trip to Legoland was a disaster and this old park needs serious maintenance.

Thanks

User

User
