A tree has just blown down and is blocking the road between our garage and the Leitrim Road. So with one end of the road closed due to roadworks and the other end blocked by a fallen tree, we are going to have a quiet afternoon !!!! Hopefully the Broagh Road is still open !
My two nieces 😎 or should I say, two of my nieces
,This was the very last stage in the rally - it was a forest stage which finished in the grounds of a hotel, - once you crossed the finish line the rally was over - no road section. They had knocked the n/s front wheel off (broken stub axle) when they went off the road and hit a tree stump. So the navigator sat on the bonnet with the offending lost wheel to try and counterbalance the car and keep the brake disc from digging into the road.. He fell off a couple of times before they crossed the finish line ! I think they were lying about 5th or 6th overall before this accident. The photo isn't very clear, so you can't really see that the n/s front wheel is missing.
We will be closed tomorrow morning, 16th January, due to a family funeral, We will be open again at 2.00 pm
My father, Joe Pat, started of business in 1953 in a shed rented from the Devlin family, which is just out of sight on the left of this picture. I often heard him talk of the Hillhead roundabout and the numerous accidents at it.

After some time, we have been able to get some 4.7 crown wheel & pinions made to suit the standard Sunbeam or Avenger axle. We have already had 2 sent to us which have been tested successfully in competition and a further 50 units will be with us in the next couple of weeks. £595 + vat
