In addition to our usual cleaning, today we sprayed the exterior of the shop, including pumps, handles, walls and the door with hospital grade antibacterial spray in order to protect against this terrible virus. We will continue to do this going forward so that the public are not at risk when they visit our store #staysafefolks

That's our last deliveries done for today but you can still ring, or email in for delivery for tomorrow morning :) or why not use our highly recommended call and collect service - just ring in your order and our staff will bring your groceries out to your car! Getting very good reviews about our call and collect, great to be able to help our customers that want the trip to the shop, without the hassle of getting out of your car

We have taken the decision to close at 10pm each night from tonight in order to fully clean and sanitise the shop for the the next morning. We will now be opening the shop each day from 7am. This decision was taken in order to ensure that the store remains a safe place to shop for the local community and we hope that this is of no inconvenience to anyone. We apologise if it is but we have to take these very necessary steps. Please be patient with us, we will review our opening hours constantly with the public very much in mind. Our Post Office will remain open as long as possible each day continuing to provide essential services to the local community. We are also very aware of the need ...to maintain the food chain and we would ask you all to abide by the government guidelines.

Needed to create a little bit of space today to make the store more spacious for our customers and our staff members. We have also erected perspex screening at all of our till points for everyone’s protection. Plenty of room now for all of our valued customers and staff to practice appropriate social distancing.

A few wee reminders about the whole social distancing advice in store folks with more protective measures to come before we open tomorrow. And while we normally love to see our regular customers standing and chatting away when they come in, at this point in time we would have to discourage it for everyone’s safety.
We would also encourage just one family member to come into the shop and not the whole family, maybe even to shop early or late avoiding the usual peak times in t...he middle of the day. At the minute our opening hours remain 7-11 daily.
Customers at O’Kanes can be reassured by our strict anti-bacterial cleaning policy with disposable gloves available at our petrol pumps and just inside the shop door for your use. We are also delivering away to those customers who would rather not or are unable to visit the store because they are elderly, at risk or isolated, full details of our free delivery service in previous post.

Advice coming from very good sources are telling us that the use of gloves when filling up at petrol pumps is extremely important to avoid infection from Coronavirus.
Our pump dispensers are being anti-bacterially cleaned continuously by our staff and gloves and paper towels are available at every pump, please use them or alternatively come into shop and ask for your fuel to be filled for you by one of our staff members.
Also use gloves when using external ATM’s, although b...etter, safer, (and cheaper) to avail of our Post Office counter for your cash requirements.

** FREE DELIVERY ** Hi folks, just a bit of an update on whats happening with us as the whole coronvirus crisis escalates. At present we are working away following all of the Health Agency advice still employing a strict "clean as you go" policy using anti-bacterial cleaners and anti-bacterial hand gel to ensure that all surfaces or personnel that customers may come into contact with are properly sanitised. Counter tops, pin pads, door handles, basket and shopping trolley ...handles are being cleaned constantly by our counter and floor staff, to insure minimum risk of infection transfer.
At present our suppliers are functioning reasonably well and we are experiencing shortfalls on orders in only a couple of categories. We continue to work extremely hard to fill these shortfalls whilst always seeking to remain competitive on pricing throughout the shop.
In order to help our elderly, vulnerable, at risk or isolated customers we are now taking orders for home delivery. We at O'Kane's Superstore would like to reassure all of our customers that we are doing all that we can to ensure that we stay safely within the guidelines issued by The Northern Ireland Health Agency to minimise the risk of any viral infection to any of our customers or staff members. We are employing a strict clean as you go policy using anti-bacterial cleaners and anti-bacterial hand gel to ensure that all surfaces or personnel that customers may come into contact with ar...e properly sanitised. All of our food preparation and packaging areas are of paramount importance to us and staff members have been instructed to 'go overboard' when observing the cleaning protocols whilst working in these areas.
