#TBT last Sunday when the #australianopen was just wrapping up but the real action was happening at Omagh LTC!! Congratulations to the winners of our Melbourne themed doubles event Jim and Clodagh who won all their matches, closely followed by Mark and Cara in a very tight event! Thanks to everyone that came down and made it a great afternoon of tennis 🎾🎾🎾

JUNIOR COACHING OFF
I've been informed the courts are covered in snow so unfortunately no junior coaching tonight.

6-8pm coaching off unfortunately snow and ice on courts.
5-6pm group can play short tennis with foam balls in clubhouse

All set to get back on court tomorrow! This will now be a 5 week block with this Monday night being off and I have to be away Wednesday 27th February.
Monday groups will run 5 weeks from:... Mon 28th January - Mon 25th February
So Wednesday groups 5 weeks starting tomorrow: Wed 23rd Jan - Wed 20th February
Cost: £20 for members for 5 week course £25 for non members for 5 week course
Weather: This block is always the toughest time of the year for weather! Tennis will be on unless courts are unplayable with snow or ice. Cold and rain = tennis will be on.
If conditions are really cold for the younger groups we will use the indoor clubhouse with sponge balls. If conditions get too bad for older groups and the clubhouse is free, we will do tennis specific fitness / footwork and maybe work on other aspects of the game 🙂

Junior coaching begins again this week! Same groups and times as before Christmas. Wrap up warm! 🎾

Friday evening saw the start of our latest round of beginner sessions and the club was just BUZZING!! A total of 36 beginners and improvers have signed up to these fantastic sessions which are being coached by Irvinestown’s Martin Garrity, ably assisted by our very own Conor Fitzgerald! It’s brilliant to see so many people stepping out of their comfort zone, trying new things and meeting new people along the way – we hope that this is just the start of many happy years spent trying to master that little yellow ball! Here’s just one of the three groups that took part…tag away :)

Well done to our recent crop of beginners, some of whom rounded off their six week training programme on Saturday with a doubles event where the craic was mighty! Huge thanks to coach John Maguire for sharing his expertise 🎾🎾🎾 Don't forget, beginners' coaching starts again on January 18 for six weeks, still a few places remaining!

Junior coaching on a Monday and Wednesday will start again week beginning Monday 21st January. Same times as before Christmas. I'm away for a week from the 13th so will begin when I'm back 👍

Did somebody say Christmas?! Our 'Turkey Tennis' social event will take place on Saturday, December 1 from 2-5pm with tennis for all members followed by mulled wine, mince pies and nibbles...a perfect way to get into the festive spirit! £5 per person - hope to see you all there for the craic!

A great afternoon of matchplay and coaching for our juniors, burning off some energy in the school holidays and keeping warm between matches with hot chocolate and marshmallows! Thanks to everyone that turned out and especially to coach Keith for giving up his time to run this free event! 🎾🎾🎾😁💪🏻

Junior Coaching:
1. This Friday 2nd November from 12 noon orange and yellow ball players are invited to come along for some free fun matchplay practice! Courts booked from 12-3pm. Probably will have one orange court and two yellow ball courts. I'll be able to help give some matchplay advice as the games are going on. If keen to come along and play, please comment below or send a message 🙂
2. Missed Wednesday sessions because of Storm Ali on first week of block will take pla...ce next Wednesday 7th November at your normal time.
3. The next 6 week block of coaching will begin on the week of Monday & Wednesday 12th / 14th November running until the week before Christmas. More details of the groups / times to follow.
