If you have a mortgage due for renewal in the coming months and are requesting a payment holiday, please be aware that this could affect the new rate you will be switching to.
For example: If your fixed rate deal expires on the 30/04/2020 and you would like to enter into a new fixed rate with your current lender. This may not be possible if you are in the middle of a payment holiday. Therefore, at the ...end of your payment holiday, you will automatically go onto the lender’s Standard Variable Rate which may be considerably higher than your current payment
If your rate is due to expire within the next 3 months, get in contact with your advisor who will be able to secure your fixed rate deal and help you through the payment holiday process.
