This week we are looking forward to quality sessions lead by our featured coaches Matt Ware (Former English International) and Gavin Maguire (Irish National Coach) along with quality sparring from Owen Cathcart (ITTF X3 Gold Medals in singles), Raul Moreno (Spanish National champion in team) plus many more from Ormeau.

Owen & Borgar move into Quarterfinals of European Championships in Doubles!
Owen and doubles partner Borgar from Norway have secured a place in the quarterfinals of the Junior boys doubles as they beat Denmark 3-0 in the last 16! Next up the lads will play the winner of France and Italy. The partnership with Owen and Borgar has been very strong over the years as they have won many ITTF medals in doubles and let's wish them good luck in their quarter final!

Club Open Today & Changes To Summer Camp Times!
A quick reminder that we have two sessions on today as normal - Kids from 2-3pm and Adults from 3-4:30 pm with coach Trevor.
*Important Notice* Summer Camps have filled up nicely but we have had to amend the times of some of the sessions as follows :
... Adults Sessions will now be one group with all levels with 6/7 coaches & sparring partners attending all sessions. The times for the Adult camp will now be from 7-9 pm each night starting on Monday 22nd July. A few beginner kids will be included in the development group now from 2-5:30 pm in Ormeau club.

Successful Day 2&3 At Junior Europeans Further success for the Irish teams in Ostrava, Czech as all three teams take wins to progress.
In the Cadet boys it was an epic with Slovakia yesterday as the lads lost 3-2 with James losing out to their number 1 3-2, leading the fifth set 10-6! Today the boys bounced back with a great win against Norway and with James clinching the deciding game! Last game of today was against Bulgaria which seen James, Dillon and Tom up against it but... unfortunately the lads lost this one 3-2 and will play for positions 25/28

European Championships Day 1
The Irish teams started their campaign at the Junior European Championships in Ostrava, Czech yesterday with a bang!
Cadet Girls - Great start for the girls with wins over Luxembourg (3-1) and Austria (3-0) with Sophie picking up 4 wins from 5 just losing out to Sadikovic from Luxembourg.
... Cadet Boys - The Irish cadet boys also started strong with a 3-0 win over Estonia with James taking a 3-0 win over their No1 Moos.
Junior Boys - Started strong beating Scotland 3-0 with Owen taking out Curry 3-0. The Irish boys then faced Portugal in the evening and it wasn't to be as they battled hard but lost 3-1...

We are still open for some table tennis 🏓
A reminder that the club is still open on Saturday and Sundays during the holiday period! Due to holidays and our busy summer camp schedule we have decided to pause the midweek sessions until w/c 19th August.
But don't fear we still have Saturday session for kids 2-3pm and the adults from 3-4:30pm.
... Sunday open play remains open also from 5-8pm.

Alzheimer’s is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure. If we all do our bit together we can be one step closer to finding a cure.

Ormeau Table Tennis have had three players selected as part of the Irish Squad heading to Guernsey this weekend which included Lucy McIvor, Conor Nugent and Joel Smith. The kids have been training hard at the recent Irish National camps as part of their final preparations.
The senior schools has always been a fantastic event with lots of teams and lots of matches. The three day event will see players fielded from England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Guenrsey, Jersey and Ire...land.
