Did you know you can claim tax relief in respect of the cost of Orthodontic Treatment? A claim for tax relief must be made within 4 years after the end of the tax year to which the claim relates.
You can either download the form using the following link:

If you regularly damage your braces, you will lengthen your treatment time.
If you want to keep your orthodontic treatment time as short as possible, follow your Orthodontists instructions and advice as to what types of food that you can eat and what you should avoid to make sure that your braces do not break. A careful diet is essential when you have braces. Braces and wires are fragile and eating the wrong foods can break your braces and / or damage your teeth.
WHAT SHOULD... I EAT?
✔️ Everything you eat must be soft or chopped into tiny pieces. Dairy products such as soft cheeses, eggs, yogurt are safe to eat. Soft fruits such as oranges, bananas and cooked vegetables are also safe to eat. You can still eat bread as long as its not hard rolls or crusty bread such as French bread. Pasta and cooked rice are also good options.
❌ You must NOT EAT HARD OR CRUNCHY FOOD like CARROTS, APPLES, CRISPS, BISCUITS, CRUSTY BREAD etc, or STICKY FOOD like chewing gum, toffee etc.
WHAT SHOULD I DRINK?
❌ You MUST NOT DRINK FIZZY DRINKS like Coca-Cola, Fanta, Pepsi etc as these are often high in sugar and can be acidic. This can lead to tooth decay and erosion. Fizzy drinks can also stain the brackets of your brace.
✔️ DRINK ONLY NON-FIZZY drinks like water, milk, coffee, tea etc.
If you're unsure, just ask and we can advise you!

âť“What are Retainers?
After your orthodontic treatment is finished, and your braces are removed, you will need retainers to hold your teeth in their new position as after the braces have been removed; teeth can shift back to their original position. So retainers worn overnight can help maintain the position of straightened teeth.
Retainers can take the form of a removable appliance (a clear plastic likeness of your teeth) or a fixed wire bonded at the back of your front teeth....
❓What happens if I lose my retainers or don’t wear them?
Teeth may have a tendency to move or relapse after the braces are removed, so if you miss a night of retainer wear you may notice that the retainer is tight the next day.
❗️If you lose them, contact us as soon as possible to arrange an appointment to have new impressions taken. There may also be a charge for new retainers! So keep them safe!
* Watch this short video from the British Orthodontic Society that has been produced to inform patients about the importance of lifelong retention *
