In quick succession to their debut EP, New Portals have experimented by returning to their singer-songwriter, self-produced roots. “Golden Hour (Volume 1)” sees them simplify their first electronic single, “Do It Right” and bring acoustic elements to “Sunshine” and “Groove Boy” whilst also delivering fresh new material in “Locked Down” (and “Sober). As the songwriting duo prepare to launch as a live band following their accumulation of 14 million streams (The Jepettos & New Portals) and the use of their music in TV shows (Striking Out, RTE) and feature films (She Has A Name, Braxton Butcher), they have reconfigured for their live set and enjoyed the resulting development in their sound.

Doctors refer to the first hour after major trauma as the ’Golden Hour’: what happens during this period defines patients’ prognosis. In psychology there is also a 'Golden Hour', thought to be the first hour of the day, when a person can set in motion their energy and purpose for the rest of that day. “Golden Hour” flits and experiments with these magical and defining moments in attempting to express what we deem important when starting out in a new direction with a new purpose.

Their lead music video, “Sunshine”, sees Ruth and Mike back in the sunny Northern Irish countryside, playing around inside a freshly burnt-out Corsa.

Bassh is a collaborative project led by Jimmy Brown which includes many live musicians, producers, engineers, creatve types, mixers, songwriters etc. It began in 2015 when Brown (lead singer /guitar) teamed up with Grammy nominated producer Bill Reynolds who is also the bassist for "Band Of Horses". They created their cult hit "Body" which received significant airplay in the USA from taste maker stations like WRLT, XPN, WNRN and many more. Reynolds introduced Jimmy to producer Lincoln Parish who is also a former member of "Cage The Elephant" and within no time Jimmy & Lincoln wrote what became Bassh's next single, "Animal". The track received glowing reviews and spins on alternative radio stations like KROQ, WEND and more. It didn't take long for Jimmy and Lincoln to get together again and the songs started flowing. Having moved back to Jimmy's home town of Belfast at the start of this year, “Baby Blue” is the first single (available everywhere) from the upcoming LP "For Kathryn” which was produced by and co-written with Lincoln Parish. It’s named in honor of Jimmy's late sister and will be released one song per month starting in the summer of 2017. Bassh has been enjoying live success playing club dates and festivals across the USA and will be announcing more dates in the USA and debut U. K. shows shortly.
