Portadown Boat Club added another boat to their fleet at a special boat naming ceremony today. Portadown Boat Club Captain, Louis Hesbrook said "The Club is delighted to name the new junior quad boat the Niall Irwin".
The boat is named after the Club past President, Niall Irwin, who not only was a key member of the rowing Club but also a prominent Northern Ireland business man and Director of Irwin's Bakery. Niall's son, Ross Irwin, named the boat and other members of the ...Irwin family enjoyed the event.
Mr Hesbrook added "This new boat is a significant investment by the Club and will support the increasing numbers of Junior and adult members."
Members have been working hard over the past 6 months organising events to fundraise for the new boat. Well done PBC!

Note to all that may want to represent their school at the Schools Regatta on 19 April. If you would like to do this you must register the school with Rowing Ireland by the 1st March! Ask them first obviously!
