We have a lot of people on line reporting an assault at Union Hall Place in Derry/Londonderry last night. This has not yet been reported but there is a video circulating showing a pretty nasty assault. If you see something like this please please please ring 999 at the time. If you saw a house on fire you wouldn’t message NIFRS, likewise if you see an assault don’t message us, RING 999!!! The victim has walked away from this one but remember that one punch can kill. Police in Antrim are investigating an incident of criminal damage to two vehicles in the Ashgreen area around 4am on Wednesday 20th February. We would ask anyone who has CCTV at their house if they could check if they saw any vehicles in the area around that time or they saw anything suspicious to contact Police on 101 quoting ref 118 20/02/19.

Many thanks to the PCSP for the alcohol and drugs awareness public meeting which took place in Glengormley High School tonight. Our own Inspector Mullan gave a presentation and also fielded questions from the audience. Some great points were made. It is clear that partnership is the key to tackling the problem alcohol and drugs bring to communities and individuals. A complex problem it is. 👮🏻 #keepingpeoplesafe #bettertogether

There are various ways you can contact us in PSNI Contact Management, online reporting is fine for slow time, 101 for normal reporting and 999 where there is a threat to life or an ongoing crime. Please don’t message us on Social Media to report crimes, these are good to chat on but we might miss out on vital evidence if you don’t tell us straight away!!! Folks,
Con C has asked me to remind you all of the importance of securing your home and surrounding property/land, and especially to remind you to keep an eye out for your neighbours, particularly in rural areas.
Currently he is investigating the theft of equipment, including a tractor and trailer, from a Ballyclare farm overnight during the weekend.
... I’ll be honest, if I saw a tractor being moved during the night, I’d probably stop and have a wee chat. I know some farming is done at night, but along the main roads and 2am???
If you see argricultural vehicles moving on the roads late at night, please ring us on 101 and get the vehicle registration if there is one. We’d rather check it out and confirm that there are no issues, than not and get a report of theft later on.
Sgt C

I don’t get the mindset of someone who would peg out carcasses of game birds in order to poison wildlife but that is exactly what someone has done at woodlands in Derry/Londonderry. We will be having these examined to find out what surprises have been left on the carcasses and other raw meat but the current popular poisons used for Wildlife crime are toxic to humans and potentially fatal to children, it beggars belief that these have been left in a public place where kids could pick them up. An investigation has commenced, the reference number is CCS 1208 16/2/19 anyone with any information please ring 101 #wildlifecrime #PSNIWildlifeCrime Sgt Sam #PSNICMC

Yesterday “Kids Court” was in session at Crumlin Integrated Primary School. A number of drivers appeared before the young “judges” and expressed how effective the message was by meeting personally with the pupils. This project highlights the need to be vigilant and reduce speed near to schools in order to protect our young vulnerable road users. “A lesson learnt” stated one driver and commended the children for their part in this initiative. Reduce your speed at schools, “Kid...s Court” could be in an area near you!!!!

Antrim neighbourhood attended Templepatrick Primary School yesterday to talk to the senior pupils about Internet Safety. Great reception and some good questions and answers regarding this very important issue. Hope that the children remember to be SMART when online and keep themselves safe. They also got to see some Police uniform and kit which is always enjoyable.

Valentine's day is not for everyone. Remember if you are walking on egg shells this Valentine's day, something isn't right.
Don't suffer in silence, break that hold. Domestic abuse is not acceptable and remember not all Domestic related crimes/incidents are physical.

Public vigilance is wonderful asset. Please be aware of the following information....... A male in his early 20’s was observed trying car door handles in Dromain Drive in the early hours of this morning. Thankfully nothing appears to have been stolen. A resident observed the male on cctv this morning. Keep your doors locked....don’t keep valuables in your cars and please report any suspicious behaviour. Thank you.

Afternoon facebookers. There are many roads in the district that we receive speeding complaints about. The Hightown Road is one of them. Today we performed a speed check on that very road. Happy to say no tickets issued. Just a few motorists advised to slow down. #keepingpeoplesafe #paulsonit #laseraction
