We were pleased to welcome our friends from local business "Go Fly Your Kite" to Brooklands Youth club in Ballybeen this evening. The boys and girls really enjoyed building and then decorating their own kites to take home with them.
Sometimes it's difficult to think of something new for young people to do to keep them amused. We came up with the idea of kites - in our own pre-computer game days we would have spent hours flying kites. Sometimes the old things are the best, anything to get them away from a screen!
Great art work tonight, look forward to seeing all these new kites flying over Dundonald tomorrow!

We were delighted to meet some of the young people working on this new wall mural in Ballybeen this morning.
The mural has been designed by young people from several groups in Ballybeen and their design will now be finished off by professional artists.
The central theme will be the image of a "moral compass" and, when completed, will serve as a great reminder of what we are all working together to try to achieve.
... More pictures when it's done!

What A Day, Good For Us, Good For You, Bad For Others
We knew today was going to be special, everyone was being nice to eachother, the boss was coming out with us and G was breaking his new years healthy eating with not 1 but 2 sausage rolls... he's been doing great, he deserved a treat.
So we went and done our planned proactive search of a property and finding the back door conveniently open for us, thank you lads, we made our way up the stairs to find 3 fellas listening to ...some terrible 90s club "classics" (which should be a crime itself) while getting ready to cut up some white powder into neat little lines. A further search of the property and some more drugs were located as well as a taser masquerading as a mobile phone! I know its shocking (sorry). They were all arrested and brought to custody.
Now on the way back from custody, our 3 Club Classic lads are still there enjoying the hospitality of a tracker bar and a cup of tea, what just happens to be in front of one of our cars but a vehicle just circulated as believed to be carrying a couple of shoplifters coming back from the bright lights of Holywood Exchange. The team pulled back together, the car got stopped and 2 more arrests were made as well as 100s of pounds worth of suspected (i dont think the shop was giving them away for free, that would be a terrible business decision) stolen goods. What followed was another house search of the back of the arrests which didn't give us anymore stolen goods, but did give us some suspected Class A, Class B and Class C drugs, with a very large quantity of powder discovered in the property in very odd circumstances.

Last night NPT officers held their first police surgery in Carryduff Library. We had excellent turn out and it was great to meet to meet you all. The main issues discussed were road traffic and anti-social behaviour. This morning the same officers took on board the complaints and carried out an early morning operation in the village where we made some good detections. We will continue to focus on these issues. In the meantime we would appeal to motorists to slow down and take care when travelling through the village and show consideration to all road users and the local residents.

****Runner, grab him!!!!****
The above was shouted by the Sergeant as the team were out on foot patrol of the town over the weekend and came across 3 likely lads who had travelled to Lisburn for a day on the beer but they just looked shifty.
As the team decided to chat with the lads it was clear something wasn't right and the words were uttered, "You are detained for the purposes of a search under misuse of drugs act"
... To one of the boys that meant sprint, unfortunate thing for him he ran straight into a rugby tackle from a member of the team who was not in uniform.
Class A drugs located on 2 out of the 3 and after a few fake names given a trip to custody was required as one was wanted for arrest by Belfast police and he ended up in court this morning.
Remember folks just because you can't see us doesn't mean we are not there.
If you have any information in relation to drugs please contact us as we are only as good as the information we get.
