Hi guys,
An invitation to join the below group - if you are not already there :) Please do also feel free to invite others.
***************************************** *****************
... Wireless technology (including Wi-Fi routers, wireless devices, mobile phones, iPads/tablets, baby monitors etc.) is a known risk. Since 2011 it has been classified as a WHO Group 2B Possible Human Carcinogen. Since the 2011 classification, studies showing clear evidence of harm have mounted. Many of the scientists involved in the original classification are now calling for wireless radiation to be reclassified as a Group 1 (Definite Human Carcinogen).
Specific evidence of the harm caused to children by interactive screens (iPads/tablets and Smart Boards) is also mounting.
Every school in Northern Ireland exposes children to wireless radiation - through the use of Wi-Fi and wireless devices (iPads, tablets). Some in nursery as young as 2.
In summary:
- Schools are REQUIRED by the Education Authority NI to Risk Assess wireless technology. They are not risk assessing this technology, and the EANI are not enforcing this.
- Schools ARE NOT INSURED for the use of this technology. The Education Authority NI and C2k (the technology providers and part of the Education Authority) also do not hold insurance that covers the schools for their use of this technology.
- Schools are NOT REQUIRED to use this technology (they elect to). It is not a requirement of the curriculum.
- Schools, the EANI, C2k or any other public authority in Northern Ireland have, to date, been UNABLE TO PROVIDE any evidence or documentation that states wireless radiation (Wi-Fi/wireless technology) is safe and poses no risk to children's health, including cancer.
- Schools, the EANI, C2k or any other public authority in Northern Ireland have, to date, been UNABLE TO PROVIDE the known safe levels of exposure of children (of any age) to wireless radiation (including W-Fi).
So, this technology is a known risk, it is not being risk assessed, it is completely uninsured, schools are not able to state that it is safe (nor is anyone), and they are not required to use it.
More and more parents are beginning to say no, this is NOT OK. It is not OK for my child, or any child.

The film is relevant to every one of us - whether you are a parent or not. If you are a parent/carer wanting to learn more about the potential impact of technology on our children (particularly wifi in schools and at home) and specifically what you can do about it, join us for this community event. Please do share. There will be a discussion after the film. Thank you.

Hi friends/former yoga students, I am no longer teaching yoga. Never say never, but for now this is my new venture, and I would love for you to follow the page and take part in any of the events that appeal to you - and also share with anyone you feel they may be relevant to. Lots of exciting things coming up here in NI - some updated here, others still to be announced. Love, Amy xx https://www.facebook.com/NIHolisticHealth EducationEvents/…

There's been a last minute flurry of ticket sales for tomorrow. Still tickets available but if for any reason Eventbrite says sold out, please do message me as you can still get tickets or even turn up on the day (just let me know if you plan to, though, so we can keep Mencap in the loop). Thank you!

The Lions Three Lakes Run will take place again this Saturday, in aid of the Down's Syndrome Association. There's also a family fun run/walk which we will be doing and would be great to see some of you there. Let me know if you plan to join! Hope everyone is well, Amy xxx

Hello all! Faye arrived on March 22nd and we are all doing well. Birth was smooth and very fast (less then an hour after arriving and two hours after any kind of regular contractions!) and we were home later that day. I can't commend the Downe hospital's midwife-led unit enough. Such a peaceful, supportive and special atmosphere, wholly encouraging of the kind of birth I wanted. I was also very well supported in the weeks and months leading up to the birth by doula and pregnancy yoga teacher Julia Cross, as well as reflexologist Julie Bell and Acupuncturist Maria Rafferty - and of course my husband Harry. So, a big thank you to all! We have been settling into life as a family of four and feel very blessed. Faye and I have been on our yoga mat together already Hope you are all well! Lots of love xxx

Hi everyone, just checking in to share this photo of Finn sleeping on his soon-to-be playmate 😀 34 weeks now... Thanks for all your lovely messages. Great to bump into a few of you this week! Hope everyone is well xxxx

User

Hi all! I hope everyone's well! All good here. Feeling much better than before christmas. Energy back up and finally getting back to a more regular pregnancy yoga practice - very different to last pregnangy. Always involves Finn this time - and often many biscuit crumbs and books 😀 Here's today's setup by the fire 🌞 Lots of love and miss you all! X
