The ancient belief is that precious jewels line the bed of the stream that runs under the gate lodge In the town of Pickering. Hundreds of years before there was a curse placed upon the jewels saying anyone who tries to steal them will be turned to solid silver and serve as guards forever and ever. Our great grandparents tell us that one night in winter a local gang or thieves tried to steal the jewels. One climbed on the roof to keep watch. The other two went to steal the je...wels. Their bags full and themselves happy they began climbing out of the icy waters there was a clap of thunder and crack of lightening sounded above shining a light so bright it would have blinded you! The men stood still with fear and knew no more as the cold gripped them. Today you will see three silver guards guarding the precious jewels below. The men were never seen again and not a precious jewel left the stream.

I need to take a little break from the commissions until after Easter! It’s got a bit crazy so before it gets completely out of control I need to hold up the wait sign. I will be here along with the other artists at Conway Mill. It’s a little selection of all our work and it’s nice to get together. Our work is so diverse and I couldn’t work alongside a better bunch or folk.

Today the temperature registered in my car at 18* it was the perfect day to do the rounds and see my lovely peeps in their lovely shops and stock up in time for Mother’s Day. So there is new stock in Studio Souk in Belfast, Kingfisher in killyleagh (see picture of their display) and Doodle & Boom in Bangor. It’s always a treat to have a natter and catch up and see their gorgeous shops.

This is the last picture in the sale! It’s the perfect get away from all the madness and all those people doin your head in 😂 Climb up the ladder and then take it off and hide it! No one else can climb up unless you want them too!! The fridge is full! There are a pile of good books! It’s high up so near the sunshine. What’s not to love!! 😂😂😂

I was so excited to receive my beautiful piece of art from Rachel, I absolutely love my picture. She is very gifted in the way she puts her pictures together, I always imagine myself living in one of her wee houses, they are just magical. My picture I call 'Home for Christmas', it has lights, decorations & snow of course, I can picture myself riding one of her wonderful bicycles, just lovely. I am still looking for a special place, so it has been carried to every room, not the smallest room! I met the lovely Rachel at the Love Your Home Show today. I love her pictures even more now that I've seen them up close! Rachel kindly took the time to help me choose a picture for my friend's new baby daughter. I know they'll love it just as much as I'll enjoy giving it. Looking forward to my next purchase!

I found Rachel at a craft fair recently and ordered a picture for my God daughter's christening. I have to say I was amazed at the amount of thought and time that was devoted to making my picture absolutely perfect. I will definitely be ordering more unique, custom made pictures from her in the future.

I bought one of Rachel's pieces via Etsy (having seen them in the flesh on a trip to Belfast). Delighted both with the picture and the service - the frame was damaged in the post but Rachel sent a replacement immediately with very clear instructions on how to change it. I will definitely be going back for more in the future. Great for gifts, too.

I bought Rachel's House pin at Culturlann in Belfast and it's one of the most adorable and well-made clay pins I have! I love it so much and get compliments on it all the time. :)
