Today starts the second week of our Environment programme in conjunction with Ards and North Down Borough Council. RADAR has been transformed into an environmental crime scene so that year 8s from the area can learn how important it is to look after our planet and how we can all do our bit to help.
Huge congratulations to Barry on winning the Voluntary Sector award in CRASH Services Road Safety Awareness awards! If you and your group have taken part in our young drivers programme you will know of Barry's story and the work he does to educate young drivers. A very well desrved recognition of his continued efforts to promote road safety.
Today marks the start of NIABF Anti-Bullying week. The theme they have chosen is 'RESPECT'. The aim is to encourage children and young people to think about what the respect means to them, what it feels like to be respected and how they show respect to others. #WearYellow4RESPECT #ABW18.
We love having visitors in RADAR! It was great to have Donnelly Fleet come to the centre to see what we do and what we can offer. Thanks for coming down.
Today we had primary schools from Causeway Coast & Glens PCSP area in RADAR. Today also marks the start of Gas safety week. The P7s learned about the importance of having a carbon monoxide alarm and why we should get our gas appliances serviced regularly.
Smokey scenes in RADAR tonight. Our life sized street is being used as a film set for some exciting footage.
September means โback to schoolโ and back to the school run and busier roads. At RADAR NI one of the areas we focus on is road safety and highlighting potential dangers. We aim to educate all road users on the importance of safe driving and to remind everyone of the need for care and attention while using our roads and streets. Big thanks to Pete Snodden for backing this campagin.
We are getting ready for schools visiting RADAR NI now that the summer break is coming to an end. Keep an eye on our social media where we will be sharing safety tips during 'Back to School week'
