What a beautiful ppave to go for a walk. Able to take things at your own pace. Great for taking the dogs.
Didnt see any picinic places to eat & there was alot of flies but thats to be expected. Would recommend having something to eat 1st then going here for a walk.

A circular marked trail around the forest. Nice peaceful place for a walk. There is a bird hide at a part of the walk which is very dirty to get to. We got down towards the Lough and the flies where awful in mid April. The door of the hide was absolutely covered by the flies so could not get to see the lough. Would go back to walk around the forest. Suitable for prams but has no toilets. Has plenty of parking spaces.

Good for walking the dog. Only problem being that at this time of the year you will have to wear appropriate foot wear. It can be very dirty. There are a few trails to walk and they are well signed. If going for a walk give yourselves approx forty minutes to an hour to get round. Great for seeing the wildlife which include a herd of deer. They can be viewed and photographed from the purpose built viewing point. If your lucky you may see some on your walk as there are a few not in the enclosure. The world of owls is situated at the entrance to the forest so you could combine the two.
