Great win for Conor Donnelly against a tough Italian opponent on the Youth international tournament in Belfast last night. It’s tournaments like these give boxers the confidence and experience of boxing opponents from Europe and puts them on a good platform for further competitions of this calibre. Well done Conor.

Good hat trick of finals wins today for the club at the Belfast Box Cup. Odhran Clancy, Donagh Keary and Conor Donnelly. Well done lads. No joy for Yaqub Kahlifa Georgia Lavery Aodhan Cunningham and Shay Lavery who were all beaten in split decisions. All in all another good run out for everyone. The training has been going well so far this season. Every one is improving as we progress through the season. Keep up the good work.

Well done to Yaqub Kahlifa Aodhan Cunningham Donagh Keary and Conor Donnelly who all picked up semi finals wins yesterday at the Belfast box cup. They all box finals today along with Georgia Lavery and Odhran Clancy. Good luck everyone.

The Belfast Box Cup squad is as follows. Yaqub Kahlifa Odhran Clancy Shay Lavery Donagh Keary Aodhan Cunningham Conor Donnelly Mollie Sheppard and Georgia Lavery Weigh in Saturday morning and boxing Saturday Sunday and finals Monday. Weigh in for final with a 0.5kg allowance. Good luck everyone.

The club would like to thank Sean Crawley Greg Copeland and all the team at Erne boxing club Derrylin for hosting and co-ordinating a top class training/sparring weekend in their club. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Could all the boxers who are going to the training camp this weekend bring 3 sets of training gear. ie Tops Shorts/track suit bottoms socks etc. An overnight bag and a set of clean clothes. Thanks We will be leaving the club in the morning at 9am sharp.

Fantastic weekend for Rachel Sheppard at the Esker Box Cup Dublin as she wins gold with a hard fought battle against her St Paul’s Waterford opponent. This was Rachel’s 1st championship and was cool and collective going into the contest. It was action packed from the opening bell with neither girl backing down in the first 30seconds of each round. It was her opponent who stepped back first giving Rachel the upper hand and confidence to press the fight to the finish and have... her hand raised in victory. Georgia Lavery and Mollie Sheppard both bowed out at the semi final stages against tough English opponents with Mollies being a European bronze medalist. Georgia was in a humdinger of a contest where the decision could have went either way. All in all it was another good championship for the girls and more experienced gained. Coach Kevin Sheppard was pleased with all three performances stating we can compete at the top level.
