Rex Bar Description
Dating back to the 1865, the Shankill's oldest public bar is steeped in the history and tradition of the area, Actors such as Hollywoods hotshot Vince Vaughan, Tim Robbins and Tim's missus Susan Surandon are among the the international imbibers - no doubt all were keen to experience the real belfast. The bar sits beside some of the most photographed murals in Northern Ireland depicting Sir Edward Carson signing the Ulster Covenant and the untouched interior is festooned with flags, t-shirts and curious, paying testament to it's distinctly Unionist locale. Make no mistake, though, all tourist are made welcome no matter their political persuasion. And if you fancy a neck-tingling tale to accompany your pint, ask amiable owner Mark about the resident ghost.

Getting ready for the Euro's
The Lambeg Drumming competition scheduled for the 7th Aug. has been postponed until the Friday August 21st. starting at 7 p.m.
Northern Ireland / Finland match kicks off at 5 p.m.

Very friendly bar right on Shankhill Road. Bar staff gave us tips on where to go and how to get there. A local also brought us a drink !! Great place
The best boozer on the shankill fantastic bar staff mark,lenny, jaquline keith love my visits guys use always make me feel welcomed as do the locals. when there you will always find me in the REX having a small refreshment / wee glass of water owe and Jackie my next visit date and time of arrival to be arranged �������
The Rex bar on the Shankill road was my dad's and brothers bar for years . Sadly they have all passed on . When i go back to northern Ireland for a holiday i always have a few Guinness there in that very friendly pub . The Guinness is the best in the world . The bar staff are the friendless i have ever seen . Will be over this year . Guinness please ������

Lovely bar and great staff very welcoming me my wife and friends went ther bfore headn bk to glasgow sorted us out with taxis to ferry very helpful...many thanx keep up the good work

Came over from Larkhall Scotland for a visit, great atmosphere, very welcoming and great company.
We ended up speaking to a Spanish couple from Madrid, what a great bar ! ��������

Absolutely love it. If you visit NI, this is a place I'd highly recommend. Warm, friendly and a good laugh. Beer's terrific too!
