Rossorry Parish Church Description

Rossorry Parish Church, on its present site in the townland of Mullanacaw, was built in 1841, replacing an ancient church in Rossorry (in what is now known as Tarmon Brae), dedicated in 1084 to St. Fanchea, a fifth century saint from Clogher, Co. Tyrone.

The Rector is Canon Dr. Ian Ellis, who was instituted on Friday 20th March 2015 by Bishop John McDowell. Ian took up his position after serving for 12 years as Secretary at the Board of Education with the Church of Ireland in Belfast. He was previously rector of Loughgall and Grange in Co. Armagh.

Ian is married to Heather and they have three children; sons, Mark and Timothy who are both solicitors and a daughter, Naomi is a teacher.
