The Publication of the Co Armagh Book of WW1 Dead (not including Portadown or Lurgan) will contain approximately one thousand names and details. There will also, where possible, be some newspaper articles.
You can call into the Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum to see the list of names. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 10.00am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.00pm
... If anyone has any concerns/questions regarding the publication of a relative please let us know, by telephone 028 3752 2911 or email fusiliersmuseum@yahoo.co.uk (please do not message here)
Our aim is to preserve the names of those who gave their lives for their country and ensure that they are not forgotten.

On This Day 1915 - SALONIKA: Disease was a major problem throughout the campaign. The BSF alone suffered 162,517 cases of malaria, the majority occurring in units serving with XVI Corps in the Struma Valley at the time one of the worst malarial areas in Europe! Rates of infection were such a problem in the valley that both ... sides withdrew to the hills during summer months. https://www.royal-irish.com/…/royal-iri sh-fusiliers-arrive-… Malaria No More Rhq R Irish

Our regular morning visitors are a bit camera shy but they got me thinking about: Paddy the Pigeon from Carnlough. A winner of the Dickin Medal “For the best recorded time with a message from the Normandy Operations, while serving with the RAF in June, 1944.” https://www.pdsa.org.uk/…/animal-awards -p…/pdsa-dickin-medal

Church of Ireland registers unlock the stories of soldiers and their families based at Ballincollig, in County Cork, between 1810-1922.
The details of some 2,187 people – soldiers and their families – recorded in the registers of Ballincollig Garrison Chapel have been recovered using the registers of baptisms, marriages and burials between 1810 and 1922 now in the safe custody of the RCB Library. Further research using a variety of additional resources has further unlocked t...heir hidden stories, and the detailed searchable list is now available for a worldwide audience through the Library’s Archive of the Month slot.
