Sue and Kathryn are sad to announce that we are closing the shop. We have traded as Rules Antiques on St Leonards Road for the last 22 years, and we would like to thanks all our customers and friends who have made it a pleasure to work here. The loss in footfall on this street and increasing rates have contributed to our decision. We shall close over the next few months so hope you can take the chance to buy that last item from Rules. We shall continue to keep in touch on other projects from this facebook page and email.

This display piece is around 1910 , both doors open to fit in images..the brass plaque reads Solophone Concert Automatique...Paris... Concert Automatique showed images of the first record players used in cafes and bars...like a juke box taking money. We think this display piece was used in a theatre or entertaining space and the images could be changed to show new tunes, plays or concerts. It is free standing or may have been attached to a bar. Nowadays would be great to use for a multitude of things...photos...your own promotions xxx It has been tucked away in the shop and I dont think people noticed it, as it is so lovely. We are putting it in the sale was £375 now £255
