Salt & Pepper is a warmly welcoming & family friendly coffee house and restaurant. You’ll find us on Newcastle Street in the town of Kilkeel which lies to the south of the Mourne Mountains.
Our bistro-style restaurant offers honest portions of homemade food cooked to your order. We use the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients and our recipes are traditional and hearty yet with a contemporary twist.
With a family background in the catering business, we’re passionate about providing exceptionally good food at an affordable price point.
Why not try Salt & Pepper’s Lunch and Breakfast menu which include various fresh salads, beef, chicken, fish and pasta dishes, as well as our exciting weekly specials? We cater for most dietary requirements. At the weekends, we offer our Sunday Roast Lunch menu, with the option to dine in or takeaway.
There is free on street parking (if you’re lucky) and a large free public car park just a minute’s walk away at Asda Shopping Centre.
Our fully trained baristas serve the best of Northern Ireland's premium hot beverages - from Belfast's Suki loose leaf teas, herbal infusions & fruit blends; to Ristretto Speciality Coffee - hand roasted in the heart of County Down.

Hello everybody
It will probably come to most of you as no surprise (the shop being closed, & new signage being erected) that we Salt & Pepper have taken the difficult decision to hang-up our apron (so to speak) and close our business. :(

Although as one door closes, another soon opens. As such we would like to congratuate Amy Matthews and Caroline McConnell on the opening of @whisk Bakery and Coffee House, which is in the same location as the 'late' Salt & Pepper (funeral arrangements to be confirmed).
@whisk opens is doors tomorrow morning, & we know from personal experience that the people of Kilkeel will turn out & show their support!
