WHAT IS DERMAPLANNING?? 💥💥Dermaplaning as it is formally known is a form of exfoliation. This treatment is done using a surgical scalpel and not with a razor, otherwise it would only be shaving! To exfoliate according to the English Cambridge dictionary means ‘to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, in order to improve its appearance.’ (reference: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictiona …/english/exfoliate). A secondary function for dermablading facial is removal of vellus hair from the face (THIS HAIR DOES NOT GRIW BACK THICKER, THIS IS NOT HOW HAIR GROWTH WORKS), but if you are only removing the hair, this is not dermablading/dermaplaning. To effectively provide a dermablading facial both the hair and dead skin cells need to be removed simultaneously. This process removes dead skin cells, cleans the surface of the skin and will remove some dirt/debris from the pores. This type of exfoliation is known as manual superficial exfoliation, removing part of the upper layers of the epidermis but leaving little to no downtime.💥
