Sen Play is managed by local volunteers, we provide access to a multi sensory Play area for children & adults with additional needs.

SEN PLAY LTD is a Social Enterprise. A business with a social goal, that offers children with special needs access to multisensory equipment. Creating an engaging, stimulating, learning environment. Specifically designed to closely match the sense abilities and interests of each individuals tailored needs. All of which encourage communication, connection and interaction to unlock their capabilities. Our goal is to provide this service to local families with special needs children in an accessible space at an affordable cost. All income that is profited is simply reinvested back into the business to keep it running.
The key idea behind the use of a multi-sensory room with controlled sensory experiences is for them to act as a catalyst, to provide a kick start to sensory engagement.
Individuals with profound and multiple disabilities often have a combination of intellectual, physical and sensory impairments, which means they have difficulty interacting with their external environment and making sense of their surroundings. In particular, they may have difficulty knowing what to attend to within the multitude of sensory experiences that surround them. They may also have difficulty eliminating distractions so they can focus on a particular activity or object. For example; individuals with Autism often have difficulty processing sensory information and they, too, can find the environment of daily life overwhelming. Activities that focus on the senses and the process of doing things, rather than an end product, assist in engaging and involving people with profound and multiple disabilities.
Multi sensory rooms are artificially engineered environments consisting of pieces of multi sensory equipment that are used to set up a specific mood in the room where activities and experiences of a sensory nature can take place.

At SEN PLAY LTD we wish to provide a sense of community presence & a support network to those who are used to segregated special needs settings.

SEN PLAY Multi-sensory Area can open up a whole new world for individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. Providing a stimulating controlled environment can create the following benefits;
