We hope to Record, Compile, Archive & Educate ourselves & others about the History of the Greater Shankill Area. Please Like

Facebook is only one strand of what Shankill Area Social History, S. A. S. H, is trying to build.
It shows the photos that people have given us relating to the Shankill Road.
Some are given with the, where & who details, however most are not. So it will be up to those who look at them to tag & tell where they are taken, when possible.

S. A. S. H also gives recognition to the person that donates them; this is done because we have been approached in the past & asked how & from who we got photos’. We have a constitution & are a recognised group, & therefore do not want to leave ourselves open, legally, morally or otherwise.

IF ANYONE SEES SOMETHING THAT OFFENDS THEM OR OTHERS, PLEASE INFORM US RIGHT AWAY.

Another strand, a site will eventually hold the personal photos of individual families, that do not wish to have their stuff within Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo, Flker etc, & that is alright. When we meet the people that we interview & get material from, we then have them sign a consent form, this helps keep everything above board for S. A. S. H.
We have also recorded video interviews where people are happy to have them put on the site; others though do not, so we listen to the recorded interview & write a short life story on them & upload that with a photo.
Shankill Area Social History is a non-funded group of volunteers, made up from a wide range of people. Looking after all the sites is done voluntarily & therefore mistakes may happen.
When or if they do, we will rectify them as soon as possible. S. A. S. H is open to anyone that wants to join. So if you feel that you have any skill, be it working a Facebook account or helping to do the research, help put on events or just simply wish to come & listen to some guest speakers we have in on a regular basis, please come.
