About Shared Parenting Northern Ireland

Shared Parenting NI offers support & advice to parents in Northern Ireland, both fathers & mothers, wishing to maintain a relationship with their children

Shared Parenting Northern Ireland Description

Shared Parenting NI was derived from the long established UK national charity Families Need Fathers. We offer advice and support in Northern Ireland to parents (predominantly, but not exclusively, fathers) who are seeking to maintain a relationship with their children following divorce or separation.

Shared Parenting NI also offers support to grandparents, step parents and extended family members affected by family breakdown.

We offer emotional and practical support through monthly meetings where you can meet with other parents in similar circumstances and receive advice from more experienced members.

All of us have experienced, in one way or another, what you are now going through and can help you through this.

We also offer advice on your legal options if you need to go to court to secure a relationship with your children and can advise you on what orders to apply for, how to apply and likely outcomes.

For those entitled to legal aid or who wish to pay for legal representation, we can advise on instructing appropriate legal representatives.

For those who wish to represent themselves, we can advise on how best to do this and can often offer the assistance of a McKenzie Friend, a lay legal advisor who can attend court with you and support you through the process.

We hold meetings on the first Monday of every month in:

The Greater Whitewell Community Surgery,
878b Shore Road,
Newtownabbey,
County Antrim,
BT36 7DQ
(Meetings start at 7. 30pm)

All are welcome to attend.

Please feel free to contact us by phone, email or by a private message on Facebook should you require any further details or assistance
