A lovely guest from my weekend wedding made a point to me this evening... And I know this image has been doing the rounds on social media... but I think it sums it up from a wedding photographers perspective.... A bride and groom choose a photographer to capture as much of their day as physically possible... and we sweat and run all day... trying our very best to make their images something they will cherish forever... We set the families as well as the bridal parties up in p...oses....trying to get that 'love it!' image for the bride and groom.... we take the bride and groom away for some 'intimate, time alone' images.... and even at those we sometimes turn around and there's a couple if not more cameras and mobile phones pointing and clicking at 'that' image... and then the next.. and then the next... and sometimes before they even sit down to their dinner the power of social media has those images spread all over for everyone sitting on their sofas in their houses seeing them before the bride and groom...I honestly don't mind if guests take pics... but it does sometimes be deflating in a photographers view to see all their hard work shared before they get the chance to present them to their clients who paid them to be there and capture it in a particular style....There's no real answer to this as we all love snapping pics at all sorts of events and occasions... Sure it's like a concert now a days!!... I always say we don't need to attend some of them now as we get to watch them through friends snapchats, insta and facebook stories...lol..so yer man paid the money for his ticket and we get to see it for free....lol... anyways... just thought I'd say my wee bit....#donthatethephotographer #justdoingmyjob #andilovethisjob!!!!!!

'When the party is over....' Which do you prefer... B&W or Colour?......

As of NOW!!!!.....I am OUT OF OFFICE.....ON HOLIDAYS!!!....TAKING A BREAK!!!!.... I will not be replying to any messages, emails, texts etc for the next two weeks..... I put all my time, energy and heart in to this job and I need this break folks, My body and mind needs to re-charge...so please allow me my two weeks in the year for myself and family....

Yip nearly 2am... and unfortunately I've work to get up to in the morning... But still have to upload and back-up before I go to bed.... But for now, just let me introduce the new Mr and Mrs Ivan Maxwell.... Congratulations again you two.... and enjoy the weekend of partying ahead....Xx

This is a crazy crazy week for me folks... as I have sooo much on and I am off on holidays as of Saturday.... But I just wanted to share this beautiful family from a couple of weeks ago... Hazel and Trevor invited me to their gorgeous home with the most stunning views to capture their new baby girl Ruby, who is now the little sister to her very proud big brother Adam... And yet again another mummy looking fantastic for only having a baby!!.. Hazel is taking to having two little people to run about after with no bother at all....And sure Trevor has his perfect wee family... Thank-you so much for a lovely wee morning Black family....Xx

So.... Another wee wedding slideshow tonight.... This time it's the gorgeous Claire and Edwards turn... we had such a great day for their wedding.. and the craic was mighty from the minute I landed at Claires house....Their little man Mark was just a wee dote, as was all the kiddies on their special day... This little beauty came to visit me in the studio along with her mummy and daddy... Poor Orla was a bit under the weather but she was a real trooper and stepped in for some precious pics with her little woman and hubby Barry.... Ella-Jane was just a wee dote.... so content and just a wee dream to capture..... and look at the bright eyes!!!....And as you will see daddy Barry had to bring the trophy from his football win for a few pics too!!....(men and their football!!!...lol)..... Susssssssssh!!!!!.... Did you ever get the feeling you had to keep quiet?!!!!....Two very protective big brothers in the studio yesterday....lol...Xx

No...I'm not giving up... and No... I am the opposite of quiet!... I just have so much on and so many beautiful babies and kiddies to capture as well as fab weddings, that I am not getting the opportunity to share as much as I would like to... Plus quite a few of my clients are preferring to keep their images for their eyes only..(which I am totally happy with!).... But this handsome young man came to the studio to allow me to capture his new baby sister Miss Imogen... and just look at that head of hair!!!... Poor Natalie must have been Gaviscons best friend...lol... Natalie and Darren were hoping for some pics with Imogens eyes wide open and alert.... well... she kept them open more or less the entire session...lol... she was so good... and Kyran was just the best big brother.....x

The 10th of July 1979.... the date I became a big sister!!... and I got the best little brother a girl could wish for....So yip... that's 40 years ago...meaning my lil' brother turns 40 today!!...Looking through the boxes and boxes of pics in my mum and dads house to gather up for this slideshow made me so thankful to have had such a brilliant childhood.... Both my parents worked all the hours they possibly could, to give myself and Paul a childhood filled with love and memor...ies, from days on the mountain futtin turf, weekends at our grannies and grandas with all the cousins running through the woods and making tree huts!!...Holidays to Portrush and the big family hols to Butlins in Scotland, Isle of Man and Skegness...So many memories, so many laughs...So as well as wishing Paul a Happy 40th Birthday I want to thank my amazing mum and dad for everything they have done for us... Todays lifestyles are so different, technology has truly taken control and work has taken over some of our lives more than it should... So please... take a step back... think on your childhood and then start to make memories in your childrens lives.... We only get one chance at this life... And finally...
