Silent Valley Reservoir

One of my favourite places on the planet. Just Beautiful...once you get past the carpark!

Beautiful place to go for a walk and enjoy the scenery of the Mournes without a struggle. The walk is flat and paved and runs alongside the reservoir. Its £4.50 for a single car to enter which I feel is a pretty good price for the experience. There is also a cafe and toilets as well as picnic benches and a large car park. Even when it is busy there is plenty of room to enjoy the area.

Stunning views of the Mourne mountains and a great walk. Interesting to learn the history of the area and the dams.

Love this place. The only problem I have is that the dogs on leads rule isn't paid much attention, having a son with a fear of dogs means we're unable to go during busy times.
Place also has alot of dog dirt, so be sure to bring spare shoes or baby wipes. But still 5stars.
