I made this Mandala today using some of my crystals.
Mandalas are used in various spiritual traditions. They can be used in art therapy to promote mindfulness, focus attention and promote healing.
Mandalas can be made using any household objects, so whilst we are all safe at home why not experiment with some mandala art and see what you come up with.

We all need to take a step back sometimes from the busyness of life. Now we have time to do this. Use this time wisely. It won’t always mean doing nothing. Having a focus and a purpose each day is a good thing but we don’t want to be worn to a frazzle either.
Give yourself time to:
Read a book... Finish a craft project Journal Do a jigsaw puzzle Connect with friends or family Watch TV Meditate
What ever makes you happy.
Certainly get household chores done but do make time for yourself.

I took the opportunity to photograph a few daffodils in our garden during a brief time outside today. Appreciate the simple things.

We all need some positivity right now.

We are so used to having a certain pattern to our lives - get up, get dressed, go to work or do household chores, go shopping, social activities. Lots of things are now suspended indefinitely. I’m trying to do as many of the activities in the wellness plan as possible to keep me occupied. The media saturation can be overwhelming and whilst it is a serious situation and we all need to heed advice we do need to look after our physical and mental wellbeing. Switch off from social media and the television and engage in some other activity for a while each day.

In these difficult times there is still so much to be grateful for.
For me it’s friends, family (most live abroad so the phone bill is going to be crazy as we keep in touch during this time), home, food.

I love nothing more than having a diffuser on in the bedroom during the day to freshen up the room with citrus oils like Lemon, Lime or Orange.
My preference for evening would be something more calming like Lavender or Frankincense.

I didn’t get round to posting earlier.
It can be difficult to stay positive under the current circumstances. More and more activities have been suspended. It’s so strange not having our normal routines and the social activities we participate in. It brings to mind how busy our lives can be with all the activity, which is great . We need social interaction but we do need to be still sometimes and we often forget this.
For me the positives are: the stillness as there i...s less traffic, spring cleaning (decluttering which is a whole other post on its own), getting course work done, beginning to think more creatively about how we can connect (Video call etc), friends checking in with each other, doing things remotely e.g worship (Apps, YouTube, etc), not thinking “oh I’ve run out of x I’ll just nip to the shops” but instead looking at what we do have in the cupboard and creating a meal with that.

I’ve just taken time out to do the grounding exercise before I get on with the rest of my day. Stop, take a breather and be aware of your surroundings.
5 things I can see - a picture, a clock, a bowl, a light switch, a light shade 4 things I can feel - air, pillow at my back, cold feet, the mattress in sitting on 3 things I can hear - traffic, door rattling, TV in another room... 2 things I can smell - my deodorant, the newness of the top I’m wearing 1 thing I can taste - toothpaste

The Coronavirus pandemic is causing a lot of concern. For the last 8 months I have not been prioritising my business as I’m caring for my elderly Mum. Although I’m not ill I am going to self-isolate as far as possible in an attempt to keep my Mum safe. With this is mind I have been thinking about what this self-imposed regime will mean. No popping out to the shops on a whim, no socialising. It’s made me thinking how people will manage especially if they live alone. I kn...ow we have TV, social media, Netflix etc. but what about our mental well-being? All the worry and constant news items about the pandemic can’t be helping and then having to cut ourselves off from people. I love getting out to the supermarket and having a wee chat with someone.
If you are indoors for a long period of time use some of this time to maybe recharge, catch up on craft projects you haven’t finished, read, meditate, practice mindfulness, bake.
I’m going to start sharing something each day that you can do easily at home.
Stay safe and well everyone x
