South Eastern Regional College is a regional further and higher education college in the south-east of Northern Ireland. SERC was created following the merger of three institutes of further and higher education in the south-east of Northern Ireland. These were East Down Institute, Lisburn Institute and North Down and Ards Institute. The merger took effect from 1 August 2007. CampusesThe college's main campuses are situated in: Ballynahinch BangorDownpatrickLisburnNewcastleNewtownards. In addition, these main campuses are augmented with a group of smaller sites or out-centres. SERC also has full libraries, all SERC students can access any SERC library. Courses, students and facultyThe college offers a range of full- and part-time courses and has over 30, 000 students and over 1, 000 members of staff. The college also has a canteen in all main buildings. Courses Provided at the NQF and QCF UK national Levels 2-6: Engineering - Various, ICT, Plumbing, Computing Systems, Animal Care, Health and Social Care, Travel and Tourism, Joinery, Business Management, Sports. A Levels (Bangor Campus): Government and Politics, Sociology, Psychology, Applied ICT, Mathematics, Religious Studies, History and English Literature.
