St Andrew'S Presbyterian Church

About St Andrew'S Presbyterian Church

We are an enthusiastic community of people, who are constantly learning what it means to love the Lord and to share HIs love with the world around us.

St Andrew'S Presbyterian Church Description

At St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church you’ll discover a group of ordinary people from different backgrounds, life experiences and ages, who have one thing in common – a love for God, and a desire to share this love with others. We don’t pretend to have life sorted – but many of us have been and are continuing to be changed by the love of Jesus, and are seeking to live as His disciples in the world.

We meet together every Sunday morning at 11am and 6. 30pm (first and third Sunday evenings each month), and throughout the week. There’s something for everyone, no matter what age or background. [During the summer months of July and August we only have morning worship gatherings each Sunday at 11am. ]

You're really welcome any time - we'd love to see you. If you'd like to find out more or would like to speak with someone about the church family or what it means to follow Jesus, please get in touch with the Minister, Mark Johnston (M: 07736 769 744; E: markajohnston2000@hotmail.com).

Please pray for the young people who are heading to Killeshandra in Co Cavan this afternoon to serve the Lord there in the coming week. They’ll be leading the ‘Under the Sea’ Holiday Bible Club and reaching out to many people across the local area with the love and hope of Jesus. Pray too for Ali Calvin and the church family in Killeshandra at this time. Come, Lord Jesus, pour out Your Spirit we pray.

COME AND JOIN US THIS SUNDAY 28th JULY 2019 @ St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Bangor:
11am: MORNING WORSHIP - 'BUT FIRST...'
Come and join us for worship this Sunday at St Andrew's. Ian McKee will be leading our time of worship together and we'll be looking at Luke 9:57-62. We'll be looking at the responses of the 3 would-be-disciples - 2 of whom off their own bat declared that they wanted to follow Jesus. The other Jesus called called to follow Him. In the end - as far a...s we know - all were to be deflected from their goal by divided loyalties. They were 'willing' to follow Jesus - but on their own terms.
We'll also have the opportunity to pray for the KILLESHANDRA TEAM as they prepare to head to Co Cavan this week to serve the Lord together. And we'll be chatting with Jordan Dick as he prepares to travel to America with the Pais movement, to be trained in evangelism, discipleship and Bible study.
PRAISE & PLAY (for babies and toddlers), and SUMMER KIDZONE (for aged 3-P7) will be happening during Morning Worship. We also have baby-changing facilities in the Praise & Play Room throughout the worship gathering. BIBLE CLASS (YEAR 8+) will be taking a breather over the summer, but we'd encourage all our young people to come along and get involved in the service.
TEA, COFFEE and REFRESHMENTS will be available, as always, after morning worship - we're never in any rush away!
We look forward to seeing you at gathered worship this Sunday. Keep in touch.

Thanks to everyone who brought in wellies to support Nicola Neill and the local dementia friendly garden that she and her team have been creating. Here's some photos that Nicola has very kindly sent through, that shows the garden in full colour, with the wellies providing much interest!

TOILET ROLL TUBES & COAT HANGERS...
If you have any spare Toilet Roll Tubes or Coat Hangers lying around, please feel free to bring them to Worship this Sunday morning, 28th July at 11am, and leave them underneath the Sign Up Table as you come into the Sanctuary. The toilet roll tubes will be used for crafts in Killeshandra this incoming week as the team prepares to serve there. The coat hangers will be used in our Pre-Loved School Uniform Stand in the basement of the church, as we display the many different items of uniform for Clandeboye Primary School. Thanks for all your help!

PROMPT CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK: WHO NEEDS PEACE THAT I CAN PRAY FOR THIS WEEK?
Here's a question for this week, for each of us to prayerfully ask God, and then look out for opportunities that arise where we can follow through with the challenge. What happens next is all part of the adventure, as we trust and follow Jesus.
'Lord Jesus, who needs peace this week that I can pray for? Flood them Lord with your perfect peace that is beyond all human understanding, that comes from... Your Spirit. And as they experience Your peace, may they turn to You, trust You and follow You with their lives.'
Jesus said: "All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:25-27)

Let's keep praying for everyone across the Clandeboye Community, that each of us would be drawn to give our lives to Jesus - the hope of the world.
...Check out the video below, put together by the Impact Team, using videos they took with their phones throughout the week (you might need to enlarge the video on your screen to see it clearly)...
