Final call for any parents wishing to put in an order for some Christmas Pottery that can be painted by your child therefore adding that special touch to make a lovely keepsake for a relative this Christmas. Here is just a selection of the type of creations that can be produced and finished with a personalised message. (other items include Christmas tree decorations and elf on the shelf figures) Cathy from Tots Pots collected the first order today and is off to put the finishing touches to those masterpieces. As part of our Christmas present to our families we are subsiding 50% of the pottery cost so these creations will only cost parents £3.50 each. Our Cuddly Bears busy making chocolate apples and other treats for our Halloween week. All the rooms are looking forward to a fun filled week of Halloween activities. Our main party day will be Wednesday 31st Oct but children are welcome to wear fancy dress any day that they wish! 🎃🎃

Playing with light and reflection provides the perfect opportunity for magical experiences to be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Light and darkness hold fascination and intrigue, as well as an element of risk and challenge and of being scared. Exploring light and shadow enables children to appreciate the awe and wonder of the world around them and provides an environment where children can develop their natural curiosity. It also lends well to language development as we can ask questions like How do the objects change when placed on the light box? Are their many shades of colour? Why? Can you change the colour of an object by placing another object on top? Why?

Our thoughts and prayers are with our friend and colleague Carolle on the passing of her dear brother Pearse (RIP). Condolences extended to his wife Denise and children Conleth & Dearbhla at this very sad time. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. May he rest in peace 🙏.

Encouraging children to take a more active role in choosing, preparing and cooking simple meals can help them eat a wider variety of foods.
It’s a fun way to introduce new ingredients, and encourages little ones to explore unknown tastes, smells or textures.
While you’re cooking or baking, let your child hold the ingredients, talk about where they came from and discuss how you think the recipe will turn out.
... The more familiar children are with ingredients and the more they feel involved in the process, the more likely they are to eat the food at the end.
Cooking can also be a time for other learning: try reading the numbers in the recipe and on the scales together for some early maths practise, or encourage older ones to estimate what might be ‘too little’ or ‘too much’ as you’re weighing things out.

Started my twins here a few months ago didn't really wanna leave them but it has been by far one of the best things I've did the crèche and its staff are so lovely and welcoming and the twins love all of them so glad I started them here �

My son has been with Start Smart since he was 6 months old, he will be 6 in a few weeks.. From day one they have been fantastic! All of the staff new and old were and are brilliant with my son and he has grown so fond of them. Couldn't recommend them enough!�
