Stephen Mcfarland Inspired Counselling

About Stephen Mcfarland Inspired Counselling

Through counselling with me I will walk your journey with you to find inner peace, confidence and courage to face the dark places in your life.

Stephen Mcfarland Inspired Counselling Description

Integrative Counselling with psychodynamic at its core, incorporating mindfulness, if you wish, for my clients wellbeing.

Make peace with the past in your mind, to live in peace in this moment, and look forward with confidence. I will walk beside you and give you 100% in each session, it is the way I am. Mindfulness is incorporated if you wish, to enable you to sit with your feelings, and in time, watch the feelings you do not want drift away.

Counselling with me allows you to take time out from this crazy and fast paced world, to sit and think, cry, shout, whatever you need to do, in a discreet, safe, confidential, warm and friendly environment. Everything we do will be at your pace, and your style, for you.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my counselling style, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Stephen.

My new website is now living and well 🙂 All done by me, so may be little bits needing fixed but that is ok. More will be added to it, including a page of my own writings, inspiration, metaphors, which will be hopefully updated with new writings quite regularly.
But for now it is finally alive, and as it is school holidays I'm spending as much free time as possible with my little people, so more will be done when they are back learning in school, for now we are learning and... playing together.
Another project is on the back burner, and will surface in September...
Any clients who wish to add a testimonial from counselling or workshops, just contact me and ill add it to the website, with your preference for either your first name, or initials, or anonymous to be added to it.

Share this with every daddy, stepdaddy, uncle, granda, brother, you know... I see this so much, and I wonder if anybody ever says on their death bed: Jinkies I wish I had spent more time looking at my phone screen? That wee man will grow up too quickly, and go off on his own, as he wasn't important enough for you when he was a wee Laddie...

Once upon a time in ancient China, there was a ferryman who worked along a stretch of the Yangtze river. There were several villages and towns on both sides of the river, so he had steady business taking passengers from one side to the other. Over the years, this brought him into contact with people from all walks of life.
One day, a villager approached the ferryman as he was waiting for potential passengers by his boat. The villager said: “Sir, perhaps you can help me with a...

The little people with their little eyes see more than a little, and notice our actions a lot. . Our challenge is to actually do... . what we wish the little people in our lives would see us do. ... . Actions speak louder than words .

I haven't been on here as much lately as I've been creating a new website.... . I do all of this myself as I like a challenge, even though it is a lot of work, I can see the small changes combining to become something beautiful. . The parallel with clients is not lost on me, as I am grateful to be trusted by clients, to be a part of their journey into something beautiful for them and others, as they gain peace with themselves. .... I am nearing peace with the website, so it will hopefully go live next week. You know I will let you know on here when it does. It will be same address as now, but will be a much improved version when it moves across. . I also have another plan I'm working on in the background, but this will be revealed in time also. . www.inspiredcounsellingservices.co.uk

He is a brave man to speak up, and admit he was suffering PTSD. He is also brave getting back into his heroic job, that all firefighters have.
You can get help, you can recover.

PTSD. . This is a true situation for so many families unfortunately. Counselling is available to help with understanding what is happening in your brain with PTSD, and then techniques to help you manage the triggers and flashbacks, then start reducing them. You can help yourself, and keep your family...

One week after the funeral of William Dunlop, at the same time as last Wednesday, when thousands of us were standing in the rain at the celebration of Williams full life. I decided I would take time out of work, and write the third and final article which links my counselling practice and William Dunlop.
The widespread grief, shock and unbelief that William is no longer here is still being felt, and will be for some time. Many road racers are considering their careers, after...

Professor Mark Williams, former director of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, says that mindfulness means knowing directly what is going on inside and outside ourselves, moment by moment. "It's easy to stop noticing the world around us. It's also easy to lose touch with the way our bodies are feeling and to end up living 'in our heads' – caught up in our thoughts without stopping to notice how those thoughts are driving our emotions and behaviour," he says. "An important part of mindfulness is reconnecting with our bodies and the sensations they experience. This means waking up to the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the present moment. That might be something as simple as the feel of a banister as we walk upstairs. "Another important part of mindfulness is an awareness of our thoughts and feelings as they happen moment to moment. "It's about allowing ourselves to see the present moment clearly. When we do that, it can positively change the way we see ourselves and our lives.

I have a group linked to this counselling page where members share things that have helped them, or they are inspired by. Why don't you join it?
Click on the group below, then click on join.
You could share anything that helps you which can then benefit others, or just join and be inspired by others. I hope to see you there. Invite others also. Mental health is important. Stephen.
