Growing up as half-orphan with an Ufologist-Dad (Armin Sonntag) who’s obsessed to prove to the whole world that alien exist, 12-year-old Luis hasn’t had an easy and certainly not a normal life. As nobody believes Armin Sonntag, not even Luis, it’s quite a big surprise when one day, three awkward little aliens (Mog, Nag and Wabo) crash-land right in front of Luis. Excited and without bias, Luis wants to show his Dad his discovery and finds out that his father would ‘shockfrost’ his new friends. bit.ly/2o79JqX

When cultures collide (but in a good way!) percussionists KUNOKINI’s exploration of Indonesia’s traditional instruments, in a contemporary style, with Northern Irish folk artist DANI’s songwriting enable a powerful musical partnership. Join them at our Friday Night Live session with Seedhead Arts on 24th August and BYO. Over 18s only.
DANI and KunoKini have been collaborating and sharing songs, stories, compositions and creating new pieces of music as part of the ‘Our Future ...Roots’ residency at the Oh Yeah Music Centre.
“Known only by the singular moniker, DANI is a singer songwriter who is fast scaling the heights of the scene across Ireland but with accomplished musicianship, mesmerising solos, heartbreaking vocals and massive riffs that would give Mumford & Sons cramp. There is much more to this young talent than meets the eye.” Scott Edgar, Folk ‘n Tumble

Special Cinema Day 18 screening with introduction from the producers. Filmed in Belfast and made by local filmmakers Leo McGuigan and Margaret McGoldrick. Tickets £4
Every town has a devil. For the small community of Braxton, that devil is Tommy Miller. A bullied and tormented teen who finally snapped, killing his friends and family at the annual Braxton town hall party, Miller escaped into the woods, never to be seen or heard from again. Until now. Ten years later, a group ...of fresh-faced teens find themselves targeted by a masked man in a hooded cloak. It’s up to Detective Ryan Fenton and his fish-out-of-water partner to protect the town from Miller’s clutches; there’s just one issue – Ryan himself is a survivor of the original massacre. Is Miller opening up a new chapter, or has he returned to attend to some unfinished business?
Celebrating the diversity and scope of film exhibition across Northern Ireland, Cinema Day is an initiative presented by Film Hub N.I. (part of the BFI Film Audience Network) and supported by Northern Ireland Screen. See www.filmhubni.orgfor more details.

My favourite cinema, the only one I ever went to in the 90s and so lucky to be able to bring my wee ones now :) with all the independent cinema closures, I'm delighted we have the Strand on our doorstep

I am thrilled beyond words that the Elvis Spectacular Show is back in Belfast's Strand Cinema on the 8th of Feb 2018 , I adore the venue and the fact that the cinema was built the same year Elvis was born (1935) just adds to the wonderful nostalgic experience that this show brings ......I rate this show and venue 10 /10 and I highly recommend buying a ticket asap as it always sells out very very quickly...
