Sundae Over The Rainbow Description
Once upon a time, in a town not too far from where I sit now my family owned a bakery - Reids Bakery in Coleraine. It did pretty well but my grandfather had no interest in going into the family business so on the sly he studied mechanical engineering so he could join the RAF during WWII. Sadly I never had the pleasure of meeting him as he was injured during duty and never recovered. Reids Bakery continued to enjoy success and was eventually sold to Allied Bakeries and, sadly, is no more.
Somewhere along the line I have inherited the baking bug, which I combine with a slight obsession with all things pretty and vintage.
I love trying out recipes I come across in old books or that my mum has taught me and incorporating them with with gorgeous, fragrant, refreshing flavours. Using home grown ingredients in season ensures there's always something new to try.
