Two of our youngest rescued cygnets contemplating life after a busy morning of cleaning, preening and eating!

Good news, this little one is improving day by day! He was rescued last week when we got reports of him being very poorly and away from his family. He came into us extremely dehydrated and unable to stand. With the correct treatment, he's now showing a huge appetite and standing much better on his feet. We are hopeful for a full recovery! Thank you to the lady who called and the two gentlemen who waited until we arrived 👍

Extremely busy day today but here is two of our new arrivals -Will & Carlton! They are such cheeky little darlings with huge characters already! Sadly they have been separated/abandoned from their family and were in danger due to a territorial male trying to drown them. They are unfortunately so vulnerable at this age and size so have been taken back to our centre where they will stay until they are old enough to be released. Thank you to our kind supporter who kept an eye on the little ones until we arrived.

This poorly swan was rescued from Southall after being found amongst a building site with an injured neck. Due to the warm weather she was extremely dehydrated and required IV fluids. X-rays fortunately confirmed no broken bones however we do believe she may suffering poison/toxin damage. She will be monitored closely and a treatment plan will hope to improve her condition. Thank you so much to the gentleman who phoned and kept her safe until we arrived. Berkeley Group

Our lovely friends from The George Michael Legacy Project who visited us today all the way from America to unveil the memorial garden dedicated to George. We were delighted to see them at Swan Lifeline and would like to thank them all for their enthusiasm and support. Here’s to many more visits in the future!

Introducing dear little Rosie and Jim! Sadly we were told they had been on their own for over a week now with no sign of their parents on a canal in Oxfordshire. They were rescued yesterday after quite a challenge which required a kayak and 3 lovely ladies Laura, Katie and Jen on a passing boat. Thank you so much to the lady who called us and for everyone's help on the boat! They are safely back at our centre and after a good feed up overnight, they are doing really well this morning.

This little darling was rescued yesterday after being found wandering in a park with no family nearby. She is extremely vulnerable at this age so has been taken back to the centre where she will grow up amongst other cygnets and be released when old enough to fend for herself. Thank you to the rangers and member of public who called.

User

What a fantastic day it has been working alongside the lovely staff from Alfresco! Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to volunteer with us today at our centre. Your help has been truly appreciated and you have all done an incredible job!

User

This afternoon we were called to this swan who had been spotted trailing fishing tackle. It was successfully removed however we were surprised to find a nasty looking bite wound on his wing. The wound is still fairly fresh so he is being treated at our centre in Eton. Thank you to the public who called us!

User

With many thanks to Debbie Knott for allowing us to share these wonderful photographs of a Mum and her babies. Mum was at Swan Lifeline last year for a while as she was not at all well. We are delighted that she is now back to full health and looking after her latest clutch of cygnets. A very happy story!

User

We were called to this swan who appeared to have something worrying sticking out from his side. Once caught it was identified as some sort of growth that had become infected. He was then taken to our vets who has prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection before the possible removal of the growth. Thank you to the residents who called us.

After a busy morning exploring the family go back to their nest for a rest!

Swan Lifeline were delighted that the renowned Fulham artist Saskia Skoric visited us at our Open Day on Sunday to donate her beautiful painting “Together Afloat” to the charity. We would love to keep this amazing work of art at our site but will at some stage auction it to raise funds! Thank you to Saskia and all her family for their lovely visit. Please do look at Saskia’s beautiful paintings at www.saskiaskoricfineart.com.

An amazing day for our Summer Open day 2018. The sun was shining along with a tasty BBQ to welcome lots of old and new supporters to our site in Eton. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that attended yesterday to visit our centre and the beautiful swans in our care. It was a fantastic day for all involved to help support and promote our worthy cause. We will be contacting our lucky raffle and silent auction prize winners tomorrow....Good Luck! This wouldn't ...have been possible without the local businesses who kindly donated incredible prizes for our event. Please follow their pages, their generosity is much appreciated! Many, many thanks to the Community Outreach Team from Mars UK who spent the day with us today. Ponds were washed, weeds pulled, fences painted and swans handled! You all worked so hard and we truly grateful for your input. #MarsUK #workparty #charity
