The 1876 Description
Built in 1876, Custom House is a B1 listed building and a momentous landmark within the city of Derry. After major renovations were completed in 2010, Custom House Restaurant & Wine Bar opened its doors to the public once again.
With great views of the river Foyle and the new Peace Bridge, the interiors of Custom House have magnificent replicated Victorian finishes giving a nod to the grandeur of a bygone era. Plush luxurious drapes frame the orignal windows; carefully chosen carpets grace floors; walnut panelling, doors, and furniture create a rich, elegant atmosphere. With bars clad in pewter, copper, and walnut, the richness of colours used like teal, gold and violet, combined with atmospheric lighting to create a warm ambience.
In the Main Restaurant you can enjoy the buzz from the open kitchen-pass, but choose to sit at the Chefs Table, and you can enjoy watching our highly skilled team produce uncomplicated but mouth-watering food right in front of you. Each dish is beautifully presented with elegant style and passion, and the professional yet friendly service of our team will ensure that your experience is a memorable one.
With so much on offer at Custom House Restaurant & Wine Bar, from the different tasty menus to your choice of room for hire, enjoy a more private & intimate dining experience. Sip a cocktail in The Owenee Bar or relax with coffee in The Library. For an intimate night with a loved one, savour the experience of The Main Restaurant, and for a larger group book The Boardroom for the perfect setting. Featuring the original Custom House door, the table isn't the only talking piece within the room. This room also houses an original piece of local art specially commissioned to celebrate the history of the building. Encrusted jewels and old coins are infused together to stunning effect.
Finally, The Ballroom not only functions for private parties or weddings, but can elegantly and stylishly accommodate your business meeting or conference. What better way to empress your clients than giving them the opportunity to experience the beauty within this grand location. With large crystal chandeliers, a stunningly impressive bar, and ornate gold gilded mirrors The Ballroom is the jewel within Custom House.

Tried Custom House on a couple of occasions during short visit to Derry recently. Food was lovely especially the braised lamb on special menu for 5th anniversary, de-lic-iOS and great value. Decor lovely also, as were staff. Will definetly be back. Thanks guys X

Another great meal here tonight....beautiful building, tasty food and great service at a great price (£16.95 for 2 courses). If you're looking for a quick in and out cheap meal don't eat here...if you're out for a relaxing evening taking your time with a couple of drinks it's the best in town by far
Absolutely gorgeous meal last week at our staff do all 30 of us thought the food was superb and staff were really friendly an accommodating for such a large group. Thank you so much from all Staff at Topshop.
Had a lovely meal tonite in Custom house. Beautiful decor and lovely staff. Food was lovely but I would agree that it was very salty.
Went for what I hoped would be an excellent dining experience only to be served cold, salt overloaded food! Will never be back. Very disappointed Custom House!
Terrible. Waited well over and hr for our food and when it finally came it was cold. Staff were great but no reason as to why our food was so cold. Will never be back. Don't recommend
