'the pinked edge' originated as a handmade bag business created by Lorna Reid-Mullen born out of her passion to create and design, along with her love of wonderful fabric and colour combinations. Each bag is designed and handmade with love in Northern Ireland. Lorna personally checks each one to ensure that the high standards are always met, ensuring you receive the highest quality of workmanship.

Lorna has always been known, to her friends and family, as ‘the bag lady’. She has an unstoppable interest in high-end and beautifully crafted handbags, and this love is definitely evident in her gorgeous handcrafted bags and accessories.

Lorna studied Fine Arts at the Rupert Stanley School in Belfast, before embarking on her degree in Fashion and Textile Design at the Manchester Polytechnic, where she obtained a 1st Class Hons. Degree, and won several awards for her designs. After interning with David & Elizabeth Emanuel in London (wedding dress designers for Princess Diana), and Paul Costello, she ran her own business designing stunning one-off wedding dresses and eveningwear.

More recently Lorna has taught at Belfast Metropolitan College and continues to work on a freelance basis designing period Costumes, bridal and elegant eveningwear, as well as assisting companies with pattern cutting and design projects.
