Music to our ears..... Tonight we are launching our new Wednesday open session. We'd love all musicians, singers and lovers of folk & traditional music to come along and join in. The craic starts in the pub every Wednesday 9pm.

When our son contracted chickenpox I thought we’d have to cancel our Mother’s Day lunch, but fair play to Gareth in the restaurant who arranged (at short notice) for all three courses to be packed up for takeaway. Fantastic customer service and delicious food to go with it, thanks very much.

Well, what an amazing first visit! We booked as a result of a friends recommendation. As it was my mother-in-laws birthday, and as we live a while away, I had asked if we could perhaps have a bottle of prosecco ready for us arriving. Not only was the prosecco there, but there was also birthday bunting and balloons decorating the table! It's little pieces like this that make a visit more special and memorable. Not to mention the food and service! Everything was flawless from start to finish. We can't wait to visit again soon! Thanks again!

We where there on Sunday 4th March for a 7.00 pm anniversary dinner. We had a fantastic meal and the staff, especially the young guy who served us, were so friendly and attentive.. couldn’t fault it..

Poachers Pocket was recommended by a friend, as my father-in-law was visiting from Edinburgh and we were looking for somewhere that had live music mid week. We certainly were not disappointed! The venue was beautiful and the staff were really attentive and very friendly! The food was exquisite and the atmosphere was just what we were hoping for. A real gem of a place and we would definitely recommend it to family and friends. The online booking system is also really handy and easy to use. 👍

I had the best starter ever!! You must try the mix platter for two it’s amazing!, when your friends say great things about a restaurant and you go and it’s ok well not this time it got a 10/10 in my book. Will be back again & again. If you haven’t been yet get your arse in gear and go!! ❤️

I had friends visiting from england and wanted to find somewhere nice in the comber area, wow, I couldn't have chosen a nicer place!

Great food choices, immaculate presentation and lovely surroundings to eat in and the top hat to the experience was being able to bring some of the specialties home from the quaint and lovely shop attached!

Breakfast this morning was lovely made with my purchase.

I will add that we furthered on down the coast and stopped for coffee and cake in Daft Eddys on sketrick island, very similar pricing for truly awful service in a dirty restaurant with ill mannered staff, I wish I'd stayed in the poachers pocket and enjoyed what would have been ( I've no doubt ) another amazing course!

Have to say we all had a fantastic meal was there to celebrate our daughters 30rh birthday it didnt start well as we got a burst tyre on way down ..i rang to say we were goi g to be late Robbie was great to say he would hold our table ...taxi there later we arrived food and service was excellent we will defo be back

Great meal here this evening. Menu wide and varied and all very tempting. Everyone really impressed with their choices. Staff with just the right balance of friendly and professional. Bonus points for spotting I had to leave the table with a cranky baba and keeping my meal warm in my absence ! Will definitely be back.

Food was Simply Sensational !!! Steak was mouth watering melt in you mouth cooked precisely as I wanted as medium - to well can be an issue in some establishments. Good portion size and keenly priced Staff were friendly and attentive . Great busy restaurant atmosphere

Called in for lunch today on what was my second visit. Service was swift and extremely friendly. The food was excellent yet again and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Coming from Carrickfergus that's a big vote of confidence. Great spot

Beautiful restaurant with mouth watering food, We had a table of 12 and everyone had a fabulous meal. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. The building has lots of charm throughout the little pub, restaurant & store. First class.

2 adults for lunch on Monday. Not sure if they'd be open but happily were. No booking just called in. Had an excellent lunch beautifully presented. Great menu choices and vegetarian options but especially sea food all locally sourced. Chowder starter would be sufficient as main for light lunch. Thai chicken curry nicely hot (chemically and physicaly). my gin smoked salmon was too salty fot my taste but still ate it! Service faultless. Pot belly fire cosy.

Called in for lunch today on what was my second visit. Service was swift and extremely friendly. The food was excellent yet again and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Coming from Carrickfergus that's a big vote of confidence. Great spot

Beautiful restaurant with mouth watering food, We had a table of 12 and everyone had a fabulous meal. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. The building has lots of charm throughout the little pub, restaurant & store. First class.

2 adults for lunch on Monday. Not sure if they'd be open but happily were. No booking just called in. Had an excellent lunch beautifully presented. Great menu choices and vegetarian options but especially sea food all locally sourced. Chowder starter would be sufficient as main for light lunch. Thai chicken curry nicely hot (chemically and physicaly). my gin smoked salmon was too salty fot my taste but still ate it! Service faultless. Pot belly fire cosy.
