A strange old week for everyone and definitely not our usual April where we'd have had a full restaurant and plenty of craic!!!We may not be in the restaurant but we are certainly working behind the scenes in our own homes with lots in the future pipeline. After much heartfelt deliberation with staff and the committee of PSC we have decided that in the best interest and well-being of everyone in our community, the restaurant will be temporarily closed until further notice. Well done to our local community representatives and school kids who spoke about the benefits of homegrown fruit, veg, herbs, flowers and amazing dulse on BBC Ulster 'Gardeners' Corner' from Portaferry this morning. Living and working in such a micro-climate we have an array of wonderful produce and local suppliers. Also tune to 'Songs of Praise' from Downpatrick tomorrow as there is local representation too! Tonight the crew had a wonderful evening at The Irish Restaurant Awards at The Slieve Russell Hotel in Co. Cavan. We are delighted to continue to put Portaferry and The Salthouse Restaurant firmly on the map! Almost 10 years in business and so amazed with how far we have come. It is definitely the start of something wonderful. Thanks to all our brilliant customers and staff for enabling us to flourish!

Good luck to all our local P7 children from St. Mary's Portaferry and St. Patrick's Ballygalget who are taking part in the regional Credit Union Quiz in Belfast on Sunday. For those who can't make it, there is the PTFA Bingo in St. Columba's on Sunday too and St. Mary's PSG quiz in Fiddler's Green on Thur night.
