The Salty Dog Hotel & Bistro

Food good but funny smell when we arrived and weren't told about specials

Food was excellent but to be honest the smell as entering the building was slightly off putting. Not sure whether it was from the dog friendly policy or not. But all in all the food was good with a nice Thursday offer of a free beer from the craft section.

I love the Salty Dog have been so many times and have always had a lovely meal. The food is first class and inside in nice and cosy and all the staff are lovely. It is great the way you can bring your dog too and the salty dog is so clean everything is spotless and they are so accommodating to your dog. Can't fault this place at all it is the best bar / restaurant in Bangor - keep up the great work guys.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff. The burger is excellent as werethe fish n chips. Pass on the French onion soup- and the scotch egg while tasty, needed to be hard boiled- not runny in the centre. For some reason the bread tray was heated and the breads were like reheated toast- they didn't charge for that, after we complained.
All in all, pleasant enough and I will have another burger-though glad I skipped the onion rings....

Just the one night on business, and it was so lovely to stay in somewhere different from the usual airport hotels. Staff were amazing, views were amazing, and you guessed it - food was amazing.

Room was an good size, with a proper bath and great shower. The location was fantastic for a walk about in the evening and there's plenty of free parking just in front of the hotel in the car park.

Highly recommended.

The hotel was very nice and well located to access the waterfront and restaurants. Their own restaurant was ok...food was acceptable. However, I recommend that you don't sit in the lounge. Service this time around for me was dreadfully slow. I had the same experience last year when here.

The food was really lovely and their house beer is delicious. Great view across the water too. It may appear expensive but bistro menu is a high quality and the chef is obviously very talented so I felt it was good value overall.

Family friendly restaurant. Visited for Sunday lunch. Great food as always. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and beautiful views.

Food and drink fantastic as always. Staff incredibly friendly, and dog lovers unite - dogs are welcome at this hotel - and given their own mat, bowl and bone at in the lounge. Great views over the marina. Fantastic place for the dog loving food and gin connissour!
