Welcome to The Secret Cottage, one of NI’s best kept secrets until NOW…. .
Nestled in the Castlereagh Hills we are less than a 15 minute (approx. 6. 5 miles) drive to the City Centre….
We don’t give exact details until you have completed your booking as to exactly where we are…Why??
Because it’s exactly that “The Secret Cottage” lol,
However our pics & reviews should leave you in no 2 minds as to how fantastic it really is.
With the addition of “The Stables” the Secret Cottage can now accommodate, up to 16 guests between the 2 buildings.
We book up fast & we book up far in advance…. Your stay “is not reserved” until your deposit is paid in full & generally this means, that if you say you are going to book today & then pay your deposit a week later, you’re required date is often gone. Sounds obvious but you would be amazed at the number of guests who fail to understand a booking is not a booking until a deposit is paid.
We would advise, that if you are uncertain of numbers, please book for the minimum number of guests, as deposits are non refundable & dates are non changeable. Additional guests can be added up to 72 hours in advance of the date of arrival.
As of December 1st 2016 all new bookings will have accommodation allocated on arrival. So dependant on the size of your party, your accommodation may be in the cottage or stables. Please advise us of any mobility issues at time of booking. As the stables accommodation is in “loft” up a steep flight of stairs.
For larger parties or guests with mobility issues, we may be able to offer studio accommodation on the ground floor. (please note there may be an extra charge & earlier check out for this area, as it forms part of the overall Day Spa)
What can you expect…
Complete privacy apart from maybe the odd cow.
(however please note we are in the process of converting our stables & this occasionally means builders on site. However we do our utmost to ensure the majority of works are carried out between, check out & check in time, where humanly possible)
The Cottage has been sympathetically restored & offers 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed, one with 2 singles, we can accommodate a further 2 guests, on request (with an inflatable bed in the living room). The cottage has an upstairs shower room with toilet & the stairs are not that steep with a rest point half way up. There is a large living room with patio doors that open up on to the court yard & catch’s the sun for most of the day. The is also a TV with the majority of main channel’s including kids & music. Plus of course free wi-fi. Please bear in mind we are in the country side & occasionally the electric /wi-fi can be intermittent, like anywhere. The spacious Kitchen /diner comes equipped with double over /microwave, gas hop, & small fridge freezer, plus a washing machine. Also there is a dining table for guests. Plus a private 6 – 8 guest hot tub, which is for the exclusive use of cottage guests.
The Stables has 2 double bedrooms, both en-suite. We can however ever accommodate an additional 2 guests on a double day bed & a further 2 guests on a sofa bed in the living area. In addition there is also a small studio apartment which may available to larger parties or those with guests with impaired mobility, (please note the studio is subject to availability & may be subject to early check out as it forms part of our day spa) There may be additional charges for use of the studio & whilst it is disabled friendly, it is not adapted for full disabled /wheel chair use.
In addition, there is an airy open plan living /dining area, with galley kitchen & dining area.
Please note both bathrooms form part of the en-suite & that there is no separate bathroom.
Like the Cottage, the stables have been sympathetically, restored & maintains much of the character of the original building & the loft area is light & airy.
We provide fluffy robe’s, ample towels, hair dryer & of course bed linen. With cot’s, high chairs & irons available up on request. The outside area is safe & secure for children of all ages. Please note we do accept pets. So please do not turn up with a pet no matter how small.
The Cottage hot tub comfortably seats up to 6 guests (7 /8 at a push) & is very private, with a hot tub also being added to the Stables in January 2018. (The hot tub is a machine & as such from time to time, may break down, just like us. On the very rare occasion that this may happen, we will give you as much notice as possible & of course a full refund on the hot tub) (NB refund on hot tub only) The hot tub is suitable to enjoy all year round & sits a constant 38-40 degrees…. So even in the snow you can lie back & enjoy. We ask that you do not smoke or bring glass & in particular food into the hot tub area. We provide a variety of plastic glasses suitable for cocktails, beers, wines & of course prosecco & champagne. In addition, you are not permitted to use the hot tub, if you are wearing fake tan or have cuts or skin conditions. We would recommend & indeed ask that all guests take a shower, prior to entering & upon leaving the hot tub. Please note it is not advisable to use the hot tub during pregnancy & would suggest that you seek your doctor’s advice. Also, children under the age of 16 are strictly not permitted in the hot-tub. It is advised that you use the hot tub for a maximum of 45 minutes at any one time & allow at least an hour before returning to the hot tub. You will be shown that the hot tub is perfectly clean on arrival & both the hot tub & surrounding area, are subject to inspection prior to check out. Any damage, litter or contamination of the water, (no matter how small) will result in an additional £250 service charge being added to your final bill. If the following guest /guests are unable to use the hot tub, as a result of your lack of consideration, the £250 plus the full cost of their visit will be added to you bill. This is NON NEGOTIBLE & the lead guest (ie the person who made the booking) is fully accountable for any & all final settlements.
We want you to enjoy the benefits & privacy of the hot-tub & thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Our Salon is on site & we can cater for most beauty treatments & requests, our specialties are massage & make-up application, including spray tan. We only use the very best products available & can tailor a package to suit your particular needs. Treatments are available to both guests & non guests, indeed many of our clients first experience of Beauty at the Secret Cottage comes after a stay in the cottage.
All deposits are non-refundable & once a date & package is booked, the date cannot be changed or a package changed unless upgrading.
Total number of guests, can be changed up to one month in advance, however, if the total number of guests is reduced their deposit if non-refundable. After this date full payment is required on arrival for all guests booked, plus any packages they may have booked. The guest making the booking is accountable for full payment, irrespective of wither they choose to complete the booking or not & irrespective of circumstance. This is non negotiable & any guests failing to comply will have their booking cancelled, with no refunds issued.
Additional guests are not permitted with out prior notification & any additional guests diecovered in the premise or hot tub, are subject to a min additional charge of £100 per guest.
Apologies if this seems obvious or indeed harsh, however we occasionally have challenging guests & would ask every one to take the time to read & acknowledge our terms & conditions.
We are a small start up business & not a large hotel or spa group, with millions in the bank; we do our utmost to give individual service to each & every guest Our therapists, cleaners & myself will do all with in our powers to give you a stay to enjoy & remember.
It is our hope that every guest will become an ambassador for The Secret Cottage & return with partners, friends & family. As such we rely on these compliance's & would expect the same respect & courtesy’s that we extend to you. What can I say. Greeted by Lovely friendly people. Me and the mother in law have had an amazing morning. I definitely recommend for a get away. The homemade scones are to die for. Lovely quiet area relaxing in the hot tub with a gorg cocktail. Then for a lovely massage. Totally relaxed I didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend.
Went for a pamper day From start to finish we had an amazing day .staff very kind and helpful .massage was amazing .lunch all home cooked .food delightful for the taste buds .everything spotless .will definately be coming back here .
We stayed in the secret cottage for my friends surprise birthday trip on Thursday and stayed in the stables/loft. Couldn't have picked a better place.... Greeted and taken care of by the most friendly and helpful staff/owner Frank who checked in on us throughout the day to make sure we were having a great stay. Frank even came across in his own time to make the birthday girl her favourite cocktails (sorry Frank we were on the cups of tea by then we can't party like we used to!!) ��
The accommodation itself is spotless, modern and just so pretty with amazing views and so peaceful. �� We will definately be back!!
We opted for your mid week offer and surprised my mummy for an overnight stay!! We were greeted by frank and danni and my mummy had no clue she was was so surprised 😱 we got settled in and dani took us to the spa where we indulged in full body massage 💆♀️ Sheer bliss 👌🏻 Followed by cocktails 🍹 then relaxed in the sun ☀️ Were we had full access to our very own hot tub😍 the peace and serenity made our stay so enjoyable!! Took my mum here for her birthday this week for the breakfast package! We loved it! The service was amazing. Fresh scones and tea were amazing, and the cocktails were delicious! We both had the full body massage after our time in the hot tub and it was fantastic! I will definitely be back! �

Stayed here at the weekend for our mates 60th birthday. Wee surprise for her. Girls are fantastic. Cocktail on arrival,shot, an hour massage/facial. Chinese delivered, all included in the price. Hot tub too. Going back with my daughters in August, can't wait. Totally recommend this wee haven of pure heaven.
Spent the most fab day and night at secret cottage. 10 not very sober ladies at our friends hen party. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Will definitely be back.(if they take us ). Big big thank you to frank and crew frim the i do crew. And jasper is just adorable.
So went to the secret cottage today with friends...what a spot from we arrived until we left we were treated like royalty staff and girls r so lovely had a lovely hot tub morning with a lovely all over body massage 2 finish and of course lunch and cocktails such a fab place it's so quirky and relaxed deffo recommend and deffo b back thank u guys #itsthelittlethings
My friend and I had a wonderful time at the Cottage- we had a warm welcome from the staff and were shown round the beautiful little cottage. It's a great place to unwind and have a catch up- the hot tub is brilliant! The cottage is stocked up with essentials such as milk, cereal, coffee etc as well as some extra goodies! We met one of the owners as we were leaving and had a nice chat with him. We'll definitely be back in the future. Thank you. :D
Just home from an overnight stay at the Secret Stable and already want to go back! Having unlimited hot tub access was so relaxing, we loved unwinding in the bubbles with our cocktails. The attention to detail could not be questioned - a welcome hamper including pancakes and snacks, prosecco chilling in the fridge, flip flops and robes, and karaoke equipment and a Bluetooth speaker for when the cocktails kick in! We also had a Chinese takeaway delivered to top our evening off. The Stables accommodation was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The spa treatments we received the next day were just what we needed to finish off our relaxing break. Our full body massages were downstairs in the lovely spa area, fully kitted out with everything you could ever need for a proper pamper session. Thank you for everything Frank, we can’t wait to come back!!
Just back from an over nite stay with 12 girls on a hen nite. Was absolutely fantastic couldn't fault it. We received a warm welcome and taken around both cottage and stables (we used both with size of party) everything set out and ready for us to enjoy the stay. Massages were great, nice way to start followed by cocktail making (they make a great pink gin cocktail �) hot tubing and then to finish Chinese. Frank and Angela are lovely they came across to make sure all was ok and their team r very attentive nothin was to much to ask. Would defiantly recommend for chilled relaxing or that crazy girly get away. Thank you again can't wait for the next time will defiantly be back ��
Just back from a night at the secret cottage. Myself and a few friends went for a birthday treat and we were not disappointed at all. Absolutely loved every minute of it. So relaxing and the staff did everything they could to make it as enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend this place and I will defo be returning.
I took my daughter today for a birthday treat. We had such a fantastic day from start to finish . We were met by Frank as we were early and were made very welcome from the start. We were welcomed in to the beautiful cottage and offered tea and home made scones - fantastic. We were given our gowns and towels and brought through to the hot tub where we chilled out. Angela brought us mocktails as we were driving and left us to relax. We were then called for our facials by Rebecca and Danielle. I have not been as relaxed in a long long time... treatment over we were brought back in to the cottage and given thee most beautiful homemade lunch. Angela has created a wonderful experience for her customers and the setting and facilities are just perfect. Thank you for making my daughters birthday just perfect. Had my hen party in this breathtaking place last night and it was amazing!! The team were so, so nice! Nothing was too much trouble. Everything went to plan pretty much which was no easy task for the team - as we were a group of very tipsy (I'll admit to being very drunk lol) girls out to party!!! We couldn't fault Frank he was such a gentleman, I do remember him bringing me blankets whilst we relaxed in the garden (Thank you). We were meant to take part in a cocktail master class but we couldn't get all the girl's together to do it lol......No problem for the team they concocted several fabulous cocktails and we simply drank them �
Great team work, amazing staff synergy - special shout out to Demi, she's a gem - and the little helper with her cool hair, (I'm sorry I don't remember your name).
We are planning a mummy and daughter return a few of us mum's, one visit was not enough.

Had an amazing wee break at the Secret Stables. Staff were lovely, so welcoming. The treatments were bliss as was the strawberry daiquari afterwards :-) and the hot tub was just what we needed to relax. Lovely sitting in the hot tub as the day grew colder. Then into the very comfy bed ... couldn't have asked for more. Thank you, will definitely be back and will share the Secret with anyone we think would enjoy it (although who wouldn't!)
Four of us tried the Pamper Me package, we received a warm welcome from the start. Frank and the team could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Excellent service throughout, from the cocktails, great spa treatments to the lovely home cooked food for lunch. Such good value for money too. Thank you for a lovely day!
Absolutely amazing, this place is something special.. we were greeted by the owner frank who is such a lovely person, chatted away and made us feel at home, he showed us round the cottage we were going to stay in which was beautiful and so cosy, then he made us cocktails and we could relax before our treatments. We had the use of our own hot tub all day and plenty of dvds for when we ordered our Chinese and relaxed for the rest of the evening... cannot wait until our next visit.
What can I say. Greeted by Lovely friendly people. Me and the mother in law have had an amazing morning. I definitely recommend for a get away. The homemade scones are to die for. Lovely quiet area relaxing in the hot tub with a gorg cocktail. Then for a lovely massage. Totally relaxed I didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend.
Went for a pamper day From start to finish we had an amazing day .staff very kind and helpful .massage was amazing .lunch all home cooked .food delightful for the taste buds .everything spotless .will definately be coming back here .
We stayed in the secret cottage for my friends surprise birthday trip on Thursday and stayed in the stables/loft. Couldn't have picked a better place.... Greeted and taken care of by the most friendly and helpful staff/owner Frank who checked in on us throughout the day to make sure we were having a great stay. Frank even came across in his own time to make the birthday girl her favourite cocktails (sorry Frank we were on the cups of tea by then we can't party like we used to!!) ��
The accommodation itself is spotless, modern and just so pretty with amazing views and so peaceful. �� We will definately be back!!
We opted for your mid week offer and surprised my mummy for an overnight stay!! We were greeted by frank and danni and my mummy had no clue she was was so surprised 😱 we got settled in and dani took us to the spa where we indulged in full body massage 💆♀️ Sheer bliss 👌🏻 Followed by cocktails 🍹 then relaxed in the sun ☀️ Were we had full access to our very own hot tub😍 the peace and serenity made our stay so enjoyable!! They even got us a chinese for our dinner 😱 perfect chilling 😎 watching love island 🌴 The cottage alone is so welcoming thanks so much for everything and making a suprise for my mummy the best one yet 😂 all my friends looking booked in get in touch ASAP availability running out ❌ 5 ⭐️ all round💖
Took my mum here for her birthday this week for the breakfast package! We loved it! The service was amazing. Fresh scones and tea were amazing, and the cocktails were delicious! We both had the full body massage after our time in the hot tub and it was fantastic! I will definitely be back! �
This was my second visit to here stayed at the cottage last time n this time in the stables and must say I loved them both clean tidy and everything there that's needed the treats prosecco r always a nice touch the staff and owner r lovely n friendly highly recommended wee night away ,���look 4ward to bookin again
Stayed here at the weekend for our mates 60th birthday. Wee surprise for her. Girls are fantastic. Cocktail on arrival,shot, an hour massage/facial. Chinese delivered, all included in the price. Hot tub too. Going back with my daughters in August, can't wait. Totally recommend this wee haven of pure heaven.
Spent the most fab day and night at secret cottage. 10 not very sober ladies at our friends hen party. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Will definitely be back.(if they take us ). Big big thank you to frank and crew frim the i do crew. And jasper is just adorable.
So went to the secret cottage today with friends...what a spot from we arrived until we left we were treated like royalty staff and girls r so lovely had a lovely hot tub morning with a lovely all over body massage 2 finish and of course lunch and cocktails such a fab place it's so quirky and relaxed deffo recommend and deffo b back thank u guys #itsthelittlethings
My friend and I had a wonderful time at the Cottage- we had a warm welcome from the staff and were shown round the beautiful little cottage. It's a great place to unwind and have a catch up- the hot tub is brilliant! The cottage is stocked up with essentials such as milk, cereal, coffee etc as well as some extra goodies! We met one of the owners as we were leaving and had a nice chat with him. We'll definitely be back in the future. Thank you. :D
Just home from an overnight stay at the Secret Stable and already want to go back! Having unlimited hot tub access was so relaxing, we loved unwinding in the bubbles with our cocktails. The attention to detail could not be questioned - a welcome hamper including pancakes and snacks, prosecco chilling in the fridge, flip flops and robes, and karaoke equipment and a Bluetooth speaker for when the cocktails kick in! We also had a Chinese takeaway delivered to top our evening off. The Stables accommodation was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The spa treatments we received the next day were just what we needed to finish off our relaxing break. Our full body massages were downstairs in the lovely spa area, fully kitted out with everything you could ever need for a proper pamper session. Thank you for everything Frank, we can’t wait to come back!!
Just back from an over nite stay with 12 girls on a hen nite. Was absolutely fantastic couldn't fault it. We received a warm welcome and taken around both cottage and stables (we used both with size of party) everything set out and ready for us to enjoy the stay. Massages were great, nice way to start followed by cocktail making (they make a great pink gin cocktail �) hot tubing and then to finish Chinese. Frank and Angela are lovely they came across to make sure all was ok and their team r very attentive nothin was to much to ask. Would defiantly recommend for chilled relaxing or that crazy girly get away. Thank you again can't wait for the next time will defiantly be back ��
Just back from a night at the secret cottage. Myself and a few friends went for a birthday treat and we were not disappointed at all. Absolutely loved every minute of it. So relaxing and the staff did everything they could to make it as enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend this place and I will defo be returning.
I took my daughter today for a birthday treat. We had such a fantastic day from start to finish . We were met by Frank as we were early and were made very welcome from the start. We were welcomed in to the beautiful cottage and offered tea and home made scones - fantastic. We were given our gowns and towels and brought through to the hot tub where we chilled out. Angela brought us mocktails as we were driving and left us to relax. We were then called for our facials by Rebecca and Danielle. I have not been as relaxed in a long long time... treatment over we were brought back in to the cottage and given thee most beautiful homemade lunch. Angela has created a wonderful experience for her customers and the setting and facilities are just perfect. Thank you for making my daughters birthday just perfect. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks again Jacqui
