We were delighted to have been the guest speaker at today’s 75th anniversary celebrations for the Ulster Trefoil Guild at the Guildhall in Derry today. A great welcome, a warm reception, and a pleasure to have been with the ladies in such a beautiful building.

Looking forward to helping the Ulster Trefoil Guild with their 75th anniversary celebrations tomorrow! We’ll be joining them at the Guildhall in Derry for some ‘WWII Memories’ - very apt as the organisation started in 1943...

Fantastic opportunity!

We had a lovely morning (the children not so much!) at St Patrick’s PS, Glen today! The P5 pupils stepped back to 1900 and met with Miss Anderson, the Victorian school mistress...they learned their 3 Rs, geography, some technical drawing, and finished off with a brisk physical drill which improves circulation of the blood and helps to foster habits of obedience...
Thanks for having us!
Office tomorrow before we head to the Maiden city on Saturday to help the Ulster Trefoil Guild celebrate their anniversary!

Back at it with our first school booking of the year tomorrow, and with a new school too! We’ll be visiting St Patrick’s PS (Glen), just outside Maghera for our ‘Meet the Victorians’ programme. The Primary Fives will be fully instructed in the ‘3 Rs’, vocal gymnastics, and 19th century classroom rules...

Storm Ali has hit and I’m afraid that she has taken our electricity with her! All emails will be responded to when power returns...

So...here is the special news we mentioned after Saturday’s event! We were thrilled to be presented with the cup for Best Entertainment at Country Comes To Town! Many thanks - we’ve never won a shiny cup before!

We had a fantastic morning with the Lurgan Ladies Probus Group, and a ‘Step Onboard the Titanic’! It was a pleasure to be back with the ladies again, this time (keeping the water theme!) at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre on Oxford Island!
In the office on Tuesday and Wednesday, before starting the first of our school bookings in Magherafelt!

We have arrived at today’s mystery location... To our friends at Craigavon Museum Services - don’t be worried if you see a mysterious Edwardian lady at one of your sites...
Can you guess where we are?!

We’ve been booked for a surprise visit tomorrow- more details when it’s happened!

Just back from another fantastic day at Country Comes To Town in Portadown! We met and spoke to so many people today amongst all the stalls, vintage cars, steam engines, animals, food stalls, craft markets, music and the fairgrounds who were all out enjoying the entertainment and the wonderful atmosphere! One lady who we spoke to said something beautiful to us though - she thanked us for doing what we do, making people happy and bringing a smile to people’s faces. You can’t get a better compliment than that! We also had a bit of special news too...more on that later 😉

Dramatic views today over Lough Fadda at the beautiful Blessingbourne! We had a wonderful morning helping to promote the estate, and bringing the history of the house to life. Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism #blessingbourne

We’ll be at Country Comes to Town again this year, meeting and greeting with all the event goers! Look out for the Victorian ladies wandering the town on Fair day, always ready to stop for a chat... Of course, there are plenty of other performers, musicians, dancers, stalls, animal events, food stalls, and displays to be seen - hopefully we’ll see you there!

We’ve had a massive response to our education programmes this year and are delighted to say that we now have very limited availability for this term! Currently we have 1 date left in October (there are 3 provisional bookings which are waiting to be confirmed-potentially these could become available), 6 in November and 2 in December. Dates are still available for 2019 apart from the month of May which is now...fully booked!
Give us a call on 028 867 35707 for any further details on any of our programmes!

A lovely evening tonight with Loughbrickland WI - thank you for having us! We were also gifted a beautiful Victorian/Edwardian blouse which we weren’t expecting- thank you so much!
Office tomorrow afternoon, and all day Wednesday!

User

We’re away to Loughbrickland WI this evening, for the first of our WI visits this season! Our ‘Victorian Memories’ talk is being delivered tonight - a look at life in a big house, the rules of domestic service, and a rummage through the History Mystery trunk...

For the first time ever, we participated in European Heritage Open Days (#ehodni) but as a visitor rather than working! Little Miss Time Steps and I headed off to Sentry Hill House for the guided tour, a stroll around the gardens (between showers!), and a walk around the exhibition. We were fascinated to see the Suffragette card game of ‘Panko’ in the exhibition, and had a lovely day out! #sentryhill #mckinney #sharedstories

Phew! A fantastic day at Hill of The O Neill & Ranfurly House for European Heritage Open Days (#ehodni)! Four tours today telling the story of the hill in Dungannon- we started in 1870, then travelled back to 1790, before finishing in 1590... Visitors explored the Victorian bank, walked around the ruins of the Knox-Hannington house, before being transported back to the bustling O’Neill castle of the 1600s. Thank you to everyone who came out today!
