We as breeders take pride in our cats, thay are our joy and our privilege - so ensuring their health and well-being is our priority, and this comes at no small cost.
What we do as breeders, and why our babies cost so much: 1) We pay for health and genetic testing to ensure all our babies will have the healthiest offspring 2) We flee and worm our babies, and keep them free from parasites... 3) We vaccinated our babies against felv, fiv and luk 4) We have pet plans and insurances to cover their health care needs 5) We have vet costs and check-ups 6) We have stid fees and snap tests 7) We registere with cat clubs and governing registration bodies 😎 We spend hours filling out forms, resit ration paperwork etc. 9) We buy the equipment we need to raise our beautiful litters 10) We buy safe cleaning products and spend hours cleaning for our babies 11) We have monthly feeding, cat litter, entertainment costs so our babies are happy and mentally active 12) We stay up all night at birth and help where we can 13) We provide emergency care should it be needed 14) We watch and support the development of our litters 15) We hand feed when we need to 16) We spend hours in caring
Finding new families: 17) We spend hours taking photo and updates of our litters 18) We write to people, share our knowledge and information (most of whom are not serious) 19) We provide lifetime support and advice 20) We DREAD the day you no longer keep in touch
But not all of our costs are financial: despite our best efforts we sometimes loose our Queens, our Stud and our kittens. They are our beloved pets and our family. - so if you wonder why our babies cost so much then please remember the above, This does not include all the love we put into them.
So when your searching for your new pedigree family member please be sure: 1) both parents are pedigree 2) both parents of the kitten are on the active register (parents of the kitten must have breeding rights) 3) and your kittens come with their paperwork and Vaccinations
- If we breeders sell on the non-active register, we expect the new families to respect this as we may have reasoning behind it - if you find your chosen breeder is selling kittens from non-active registered cats they are going against the contract and wishes of the breeder. If they are DISHONEST about this, do you believe they have integrity? What else can they be dishonest about?
