We're always learning! We were delighted to welcome delegates & staff from the British Museum International Training Programme to the museum recently. Mariana from Mexico, Namrata from India and Chantal from Rwanda joined John from the British Museum to explore our story of emigration.

Our ‘Stars & Stripes Day’ Business in the Community Northern Ireland initiative went with a swing on Wednesday. Over 30 volunteers arrived from local American businesses to help deliver our busy American Independence Day event. The volunteers were a great asset and were even better at picking up the steps of the Virginia Reel. #4thofJuly

Ain't no festival like a bluegrass festival! Enjoy three days of world-class bluegrass and old-time music with strumming on the porches of log cabins, dancing in the cobbled streets and jamming outside the General Store. A toe-tappin’, knee-clappin’, fingerpickin’ weekend lies in wait.

User

Blue skies and red hot fun! What wonderful weather to celebrate American Independence Day, and to top it all off, we reached 30,000 Facebook fans!

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. I had high expectations, and the Folk Park exceeded them. The buildings, the history, the actors and staff, and the layout took us on a remarkable journey of emigration from historical Ireland to America. Highly recommend!

User

This is always a good day out , The guides are friendly, knowledgeable and professional . They also put on some of the best events , 4th of July weekend , the Bluegrass festival and their Halloween celebrations are all top entertainment .

User

The welcome we received on arrival at the reception desk was very helpful and friendly with people who really enjoyed their work. The whole park is very well organised and very disabled friendly and the food is very good in the on site restaurant is to be recommended.

One of the best tours I have ever been on 5/5 you experience what it was really like to immigrate from Ireland to america it’s as if you time zapped back! Great value for £9 pet adult advice is you need a full day to do this tour comfortable as you want time to throughly enjoy reading and viewing the different parts

Me and my partner visited yesterday late January for my birthday we seemed to be the only to customers in the park, freaky story I swore I heard footsteps upstairs in the red American house, and said to my partner ssshh other people will hear u, moments later to realise there was actually nobody up the stairs... He said it was the floor boards but I am 99% sure it was definitely footsteps walking what seemed throughout the upstairs. Weird but leave it up to you to find out. Great day though

User

I took four of my Grand Children aged 7,8,9 and 10 to park yesterday. We had a wonderful time as the kids took a great interest in the history of our country and the living conditions of our forefathers all those years ago.

The guides were excellent in describing the screen 100 + years ago. They very good with dealing with the kids questions, which were many.

The exhibition indoors and outdoors were very well set up, one of the best I've ever visited.

No doubt we will return soon.

I organised a few hours filming on a Saturday for a special needs group (over 30 children and 20 volunteers on top of that!) and the staff of the Ulster American Folk Park could not have been more professional or helpful.

Every member of staff knew we were coming and knew exactly what we were after. Although we only used a few sites around the grounds I have been at the Folk Park several times and have always enjoyed my time - especially at Halloween, Bluegrass and during the 4th of July celebrations.

On behalf of The Saturday Club I cannot thank the staff enough for how kind they were before and during our visit. You have vastly improved our upcoming production and the kids had the best day jiving in the barn - they felt like real cowboys!

Thank you again for your outstanding service. Could not have asked for better!

User

I brought my 3 daughters to the Days of Christmas past tour and it did not disappoint. From the minute the tour commenced my children enjoyed every minute of it. They were entertained every step of the way, we learned a lot about Christmas past, we sang Christmas carols and met very believable Santa and Mrs Clause and my children each received fantastic gifts. I would highly recommend this Christmas trail.

User

User

Wonderful experience with excellent displays! Not enough time to do it justice! Loved the boat experience! Made a vivid impression!

User

My first visit was slightly spoilt through a misunderstanding re the hire of a mobility scooter..but have to say when it was finally sorted I couldnt fault the kindness of the staff. Very helpful and being 4th July there were so many interesting things happening. Lots to see and some very yummy hot dogs etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the "actors "etc. They were all very eager to chat about the events that they were involved in.I would def like to return.
