We were delighted to welcome delegates and staff from the British Museum International Training Programme to all our National Museums last week. Take a read at what one participant, Namrata, thought of the experience.

Follow the sign to Ballydugan Weaver’s Cottage, meander down the quiet country lane and you'll be transported right back to the 1850s. The wonders of a weekend wander with us. We're open from 10am to 5pm each day.

100 year ago today, RMS Carpathia was torpedoed and sunk by the Imperial German Navy submarine U-55 off the Irish coast. All of the passengers and the surviving crew members boarded the lifeboats as the vessel sank with 218 survivors on 17 July 1918. Five of the crew perished when the second torpedo pierced the engine room. The Carpathia had risen to fame in 1912 having rescued survivors of the Titanic disaster.

Bring the kids and a camera as you get close to these wonderful animals. Cheer on your favourite donkey in the egg and spoon race, musical chairs and the fancy dress competition. Held in partnership with the Donkey Breed Society, the annual Donkey Championship Show is a great day out for the whole family.

We went to the museum at Cultra which we really enjoyed must have been 25 years since we were there. thought it was good.Quite alot of walking if your going to follow the map right around. It took us 3 hours to complete fully and that was only the museum side.Unfortunately we didn't have time for the transport side.We went to the tea rooms and had soup which was delicious and sausage rolls were freshly made.So I've haven't any complaints about tea rooms.I don't think it is anymore expensive than other places.I was in Bangor and paid 8 quid for 2 coffee and a tray bake!

Visited folk museum today. Had a lovely morning in the sun all staff friendly and help. But want to thank the man in the sweet shop. We stopped on way out to buy sweetie treat for kids. My daughter fell over a short time later outside and dropped her sweets all over the floor. She was so upset and had hurt her knee and elbow. The sweet shop man saw what happened and remembered what she had bought and bought her a bag of the same sweets over. Thank you so much you made her smile again. Very kind and thoughtful of you.

Absolutely love the folk park. We were here yesterday and really enjoyed it. Pleasant staff and great food in the tea room...hubby said the Ulster stew is the best he's had and prices on par with what you'd pay elsewhere. Didn't do the transport side as it took us about 4.5hrs to do the folk park as we like to take our time and have a good look at things. May be worthwhile though offering a ticket which can be used over 2 days so people can do both museums and have ample time to really enjoy both without feeling rushed.
