For women to be protected, the laws of the country they live in should reflect a strong stance against violence. #16DaysofAction #EndVAWG

We're calling on victims of sexual violence to take part in our survey, whether or not you reported to police. Your views will be used to inform our organisational response to the Gillen Review consultation, are anonymous and will be treated confidentially.
You can contribute to the survey by following this link: http://www.victimsupportni.com/…/we-nee d-to-hear-from-vict…/

As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence the Center for Women’s Global Leadership are focusing on violence in the workplace. Women should feel safe at work, and be treated equally. #16DaysofAction #EndVAWG

Women should not have to live in fear of violence ... at home, at work or in school. Yet this stark statistic shows that women live in a world where they are at risk of violence. This must end. #16DaysofAction #EndVAWG

During the #16DaysofAction to end violence against women and girls, we are reminding everyone that there is a fantastic App available to help victims of domestic and sexual violence in NI. 'Haven' pulls information & support into one place. It's FREE to download. #EndVAWG

As we all highlight moves to help end violence against women and girls during the UN's #16DaysofAction it's worth reminding everyone of this wee video which explains #consent in simple terms #EndVAWG #breakthesilence

15 million adolescent girls aged 15-19 worldwide have experienced forced sex at some point in their young lives, (Unicef, 2017). This is a disgrace. We must work together to end violence against women and girls. For our daughters, sisters, nieces and friends. #16DaysofAction

Did you know that on average, a woman will be assaulted 35 times before reporting domestic violence to the police? There are many factors which stop women from seeking help. Help end violence against women and girls... #EndVAWG #16DaysofAction

As the #16DaysofAction to end violence against women and girls continues, we give a big shout out and a huge thanks to our ISVA team Claire and Roisin, who dedicate their working lives to helping, supporting and advocating for victims of sexual violence. Inspirational women!

We gathered in our Belfast Hub today to wish one of our longest serving volunteers all the best for his retirement. Harold joined us in 2002, after seeing an advert in the Belfast Telegraph. Despite his wife and daughter telling him he wouldn't suit the role, he has been a fixture of our Witness Service volunteering team ever since. He'll be sorely missed by his Victim Support NI family, and we wish him a well-deserved rest! If you would like to join us and have many happy years of volunteering, you can apply online at www.victimsupportni.co.uk/volunteer

We're nominating 'consent' as our word of 2018. As a society we need to understand what it is, what it looks like and sounds like.
There's still too much confusion if some parties think consent has anything to do with your clothing or underwear! #16DaysofAction #EndVAWG

Our CEO Geraldine Hanna was on BBC Radio Foyle last week talking about Sir John Gillen's review into how sexual violence cases are handled throughout the Criminal Justice System. Listen back from 40 minutes in.
Sir John Gillen is also on the programme from 1 hour 37 minutes in.

Very worthwhile service. Don't know what I would have done without victim and witness support. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and always there to help.
