We're reminding everyone of the importance of water safety in the hotter weather and urging people not to put themselves in danger, especially in any quarries, loughs, lakes and open water where swimming is not permitted.
The dangers of open water include: 🏞️ It is very cold in comparison to indoor pools or shallow water – the initial shock of falling into the open water may cause panic and the weight of your clothing will make it more difficult to swim 🏞️ There may be hidden... currents 🏞️ It can be difficult to get out of open water with steep and slimy muddy banks or vertical mooring points 🏞️ It can be deep with hidden shelves and sharp drop-offs close to the bank’s edge 🏞️ There may be hidden rubbish hiding below the water surface 🏞️ There are no lifeguards or lifesaving aids nearby 🏞️ The water may be polluted with chemicals and may make you ill.

What a great continental market this year.

So much entertainment for adults and kids it's a credit to all concerned.

User

We enjoyed the Continental Market very much. Lots of stalls for different tastes. It was great that it was contained to a small area so didn't have to walk too far. Parking was easy too. We noticed as well that there were plenty of bins available and they were being emptied too, which should keep the area litter free. Well organised so well done to all involved.

User

On behalf of Chocolate Fountains WPM would like to say well done to all staff from MUDC on an excellent event/market. A special word of thanks, must go to all the maintenance staff for their assistance & help throughout the weekend. Hope everyone enjoyed their treats from our stand.
