Volume Control is a gig promotion team, which aims to bring young people with an interest in music between the ages of 14-19 (making Volume Control the only all ages promoter in the festival!) together and the programme enables them to develop the various skills and become aware of the essentials involved in putting together a gig, and also how to effectively promote a gig in order to get as big an audience as possible. All in all this comes to make Volume Control a very uniq...ue and interesting organisation to work with so all the more reason to support the gig!
Our next gig will take place on Friday the 28th of September in The Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast from 7pm-10pm and is a must see for acoustic and R&B lovers of all ages! Playing at this gig will be Little Poca, a young and upcoming solo artist originally from County Tyrone, who creates music unlike anything else on the local scene at the moment. Combining impressively intricate lyricism and vivid imagery, Little Poca creates music with a concoction of influences and genres including: folk, blues, indie and pop. Also on the bill is Bairie, the new project of Irish songstress, Emily McCormick. Emily is a Derry based multi-instrumentalist, with an electric mix of influences her sound can be described as “Melancholic Folk.” Completing our bill is Dena Yakout, a young rapper, singer, songwriter, DJ and actress who has recently returned from a tour of Turkey where she was part of an expat improve group in Istanbul – Dena is a multifaceted artist with vision, flare and dynamic lyricism.
Competitions and further details surrounding the gig will be shared in the coming weeks through Volume Control’s social media platforms on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Also if you have any further questions or queries, contact us on our email volumecontrolbelfast@gmail.com.
